ME TOO!!! Before this, it was pretty normal for me to get up in the middle of the night to pee once, but now I have to go every 3 hours in the middle of the night like clockwork. That's gotta stop. I think I gotta cut back at night, like @Karen L said, cause home girl needs her SLEEP. I didn't think of the toxin flush explanation. I like that one. I'd rather go with that than that we're just drinking too much water. Haha.

I will do this over the next few days and let you know.  I also now am hearing from folks that this period I'm in can be the toughest, so I am hopeful I'm just at the "worst time".  The new me is coming out during the eclipse!!!

It's been a couple days since I've checked in. It just dawned on me I had It Works greens (not w30 compliant) on Tuesday. I had a major headache and couldn't think straight. I wanted chicken noodle soup and ginger ale because I felt so sick. Anyway.....so thats it for this attempt. I'll be staying compliant for the remainder of the time, but can't count this as a success. My next restart wont be until probably the end of september. This group is awesome! Keep up the great work!

@Sara Cameron-Ragazzo Sorry to hear you're feeling discouraged/worried, but, according to the timeline, I think that's right on schedule. Days 10 and 11 are said to be the worst. I know I felt it yesterday. I didn't want to do ANYTHING, and I was so happy that I had leftovers for every meal, because if I had to cook again, I probably would have thrown a pan at the wall. If I had the energy to, that is, haha. Think of these as our hump days. Better days are coming!! I totally agree with everyone about ditching the traditional breakfast meals. Eat whatever the heck you want, whatever won't make you hate breakfast. And you might want to try some prepare-ahead freezer meals for those nights you just can't bear to cook again. The person who ran the Whole30 Instagram feed last week gave a ton of them. I think I'm going to try to put a bunch of those together for next week. And another thing suggested by the book (that I have yet to do myself, of course, even though it's a great idea), is to figure out a few "emergency" meal options, stuff that's really easy to whip together when you're not in the mood to spend tons of time preparing a meal, and always have those ingredients at the ready. I hope this gets easier for you. You're doing great!!!

@MarieC1978  I'd definitely contact one or the other on this. Just to check in and let them know you're doing it and see what insight they have. At least keep a food diary so you can see what triggers episodes and what works. Maybe you'll see a pattern.

Hi all. Just wanted to check in. I'm still with ya'all!  Been following posts but been crazy busy.  Glad I made a big batch of carnitas Sunday, otherwise who knows what I'd be eating??  So sleep hasn't gotten better. 5 hours each last two nights, but I think a big part may be work stress. There are problems I don't see a solution for, which I usually do. I guess it's weighing on me heavier, and I do think whole 30 messes with your emotions a bit too, so it's probably exacerbated.  That, and no wine Anyway, feeling pretty strong (but tired) going into day 11!  More on the side of "I don't want to eat anything" rather than "I'm ready to eat whatever I want".  Another weekend to get through and I'll feel in a better place!
Happy belated birthday @SnappySue  So glad you reached out to the group for support. This forum is such a great go-to.  Wish we could all meet in person!  Totally lucked into a great group!

Hi there!  I rooted around at lunch and found these two articles:
    http://whole9life.com/2014/09/improve-your-sleep/
    http://whole9life.com/2014/09/improve-sleep-quality/
Another suggestion I heard was to make sure you're getting enough carbs with dinner.  I'm not hungry when I wake up in the middle of the night, so it might be work stress, though I'm not having any more than usual.  I don't think.  Maybe usual stress combined with change in diet.  Anyway, good luck & may we sleep better tonight!

Yesterday was so hard. No energy. Whatsoever! Eating is good. I still miss my wine at night , but not as much as the first week:) .

You can do this, @amandamay83! If you don't make a big deal about it, no one else will either. There's so much power in the resolve of "no thank you."

This keeps happening to me too. I spend hours awake in the middle of the night. This tends to happen any time I change my diet drastically. I'm sure there are troubleshooting tips on this forum somewhere about this, at least regarding staying up in the middle of the night because I start to feel hungry since I'm not supposed to be awake then, but I just haven't had a chance to hunt around for it yet... I hope tonight is more restful, @Karen L

Exactly.  People eat and don't eat cake all the time... we don't usually notice but not eating a piece of cake isn't really all that strange, so just say no thank you and move along... you can do it!

I've seen several of you comment that you dreamed of non-compliant food or drinks last night. I dreamt that I accidentally got sweet tea instead of unsweet. I'm really hungry and sleepy today.  I'm ready to hit Day 15!!!

Super tired today. Woke up before my alarm this morning but didn't feel peppy. Going to bed early. Can someone just wake me at Day 14?  Thanks.

I had my first food dream last night.  I drank a diet coke, and it was so so good!  *sigh*.  I also woke up at 3:50 am and couldn't fall back to sleep.  Early to bed, early to rise, I guess.  Grrr...

You can do it!  Bring a water with a straw, or other favorite drink - it will at least keep your hands full.  15 minutes to get through, and you will feel so empowered after!

    More dream news:
Last night, I dreamt that I was casually drinking a Coke Zero, and that I found out there was added sugar in something I was eating. I was disappointed in my dream self when I woke up, because my plan in the dream was to just keep quiet and pretend nothing ever happened. Naughty dreamer.

@amandamay83.....please stay with us! Proud of your honesty and starting fresh rather than adding on
@Karen L.....I hate grocery shopping  because of all the time spent reading labels. And what was comliant last week might not be next. Wish I had an easy answer for breakfast. I'm still working on that myself
I wasn't home for lunch today so ended up missing a meal. I don't know how to work this when I'm not home, it's poor planning on my part. Usually I'm not hungry and don't realise I've missed the meal

Hello all.  Been away this weekend at a Yoga Retreat.  Great timing as it totally got me in the spiritual space to be strong when I feel weak.  All that said . . . I have an experience to share on not eating.
I woke up this morning planning to make the pot roast for dinner tonight (and tomorrow night and the next night . . . lol).  Hubby woke up with me and we realized we didn't have all the ingredients so I made the (miserable) mistake of grabbing my cup of coffee with coco milk (no other food, mind you) and out the door we went to Whole Foods.  One long trip around Whole Foods studying food labels after we bought carrots, one un-planned trip to Target for paper towels for the war zone our kitchen has become, and one very long wonderful unexpected phone call from one of our 5 children later and it was nearly 1pm and I had eaten nothing.  Wow!!! I had to leave Target and go lay flat in the car with A/C blowing in my face.  I wasn't sure if I was going to throw up or faint.  Not good.  I promise myself I will never skip my meal 1 for sure.  I can see how my body needs the nourishment.  Before I could have taken my cup of coffee with coconut milk (and honey) and been just fine.  Not now.
Anyway, stay nourished.  My new mantra!!  Ommmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

First of all thank you to those that had some tough love words that I NEEDED to hear and it helped so much!!!
Day 5 was tough for me but, I stuck to my guns and didn't cheat. Day 6 is here and almost gone and I had a good day. I woke up feeling so accomplished that I made it through the last night. LOL!! I know I'll have tough days ahead as well. I've read posts of others that have completed and their adventure. So, I won't promise that I won't post a small breakdown. I ordered some bacon, ham and sausage from us wellness meats (whole 30 approved) so I can add more different proteins for breakfast and stuff. I was even able to have lunch out at Jason's deli. I had the salad bar and ordered a grilled chicken on the side. I was able to ask how they cook it and they only add spices that are compliant so I had a nice filling protein salad with fresh lemon and a little olive oil for the dressing.
Again thanks so much!! I need you guys : = )

Okay...true story...I am on my phone CONSTANTLY when I am shopping. No...not talking or texting, but looking up things on this forum!  It takes me forever, but I am training my kids while we are there.
As you all know, my husband is supporting me by eating W30 meals. He comes to me yesterday and says "Babe, I love you, but I just want a salami, turkey, and ham sandwich. I will wrap that sucker in lettuce and I won't even ask for Swiss cheese."  I went to the store hoping to find lunchmeat for him without sugar or non-compliant ingredients. My teenage son was with me because he wanted to drive (permit driver God help me). He was looking at the ingredients with me and kept putting them back saying "Why the heck is there sugar (dextrose - he now knows is the devil) in my meat?"  Did we find anything compliant?  NOPE!  All of them had sugar or soy or some crap in it. Had to call him to ask if he wanted to cheat until I could order some online. "Order meat online?  Are you off your rocker woman?!". He had me laughing so hard in the store I had to put him on speakerphone. Everyone in the deli aisle was laughing at our conversation.  I ended up buying him small packs of lunchmeat that looked to be the healthiest and he agreed to eat "that stuff" from online.
Shopping is the hardest part of W30 to me. Seems the food industry could use an education on what we need and don't need in our food.
