  1. I have always canned my own salsa and love my recipe. It is no sugar added and we always get rave reviews. I unfortunately forgot it has corn starch as a thickener. We are on day 21 of our 2nd W30 and I already know from the first W30 that corn products are not my friends. I just bought my tomatoes today at the farmers market and they need to be canned soon! Can anyone suggest an alternative thickener for corn starch that would be adequate to use in canning? I'm not very familiar with all of the non-grain thickeners and how they should be used. Thank you!!
  2. What are your favorite brands of salsa that are whole30 compliant and where did you buy them? I want to try different ones. I don't really have time to make it myself. I found this one at Walmart. Great Value Cantina Style Salsa Medium.
  3. Hi, I have some yummy fresh salsa. What would be a good food to scoop my salsa?? Cucumbers don't sound great or carrots... any ideas?? Thanks!!
  4. I'm getting ready to start my first Whole30 and normally have a couple eggs with Trader Joe's Salsa Authentica each morning. I read through the ingredient list and it says "vinegar (distilled from corn)" as an ingredient. I believe I've seen this salsa on other blogs as being Whole30 compliant (maybe this was before they listed what the vinegar was distilled from on the ingredient label?) and just wanted to verify if I'll be able to continue using this salsa. If not, any other Trader Joe's salsas that people would recommend?
  5. I found this green salsa at Wal-Mart, the whole jar was only 1.98 and the ingredients looked compliant to me. I wanted to double check with someone. What do you all think? Too good to be true?? I'm attaching picture of ingredients
  6. I'm almost done with my whole 30 (currently on Day 30. Feeling great results) I realized a brand of salsa I bought nine days ago has organic sugar listed as it's ninth ingredient (three are 13 ingredients). I usually use 1-2 tablespoons (2 tablespoons are in a serving) a day and the nutrition info lists one gram of sugar per serving (which I think some of that sugar comes naturally from the tomato and tomato paste). At the most I am getting 1g of added sugar a day. Is that enough to stop my metabolism from healing? I will be sure never to buy that salsa again.
  7. This salsa recipe sounds very tasty. I would replace the sour cream for homemade mayo and use veggies instead of chips. http://pkstaples.blogspot.com/2010/06/crisp-cucumber-salsa.html
