Kelly F
Hi Y'all!!! I need to bring a meat based whole 30 appetizer to a party on Saturday --- any suggestions. I'm thinking meatballs or wings. I don't think I can find organic wings though. Thanks and Happy Friday!!!
Moderators Tom Denham Posted August 10, 2012 Moderators Share Posted August 10, 2012 Everything does not have to be organic, grass fed, or pasture raised. You can do a good Whole30 eating conventionally raised food. So make the wings!
Adagio
Applegate makes Little Smokies Cocktail Franks. They are Whole30 compliant. You could serve them with Whole30 compliant barbecue sauce. I found them at Whole Foods
CAK911
We found a bunch of compliant prosciutto, and I've seen prosciutto-wrapped melon as an appetizer before, if you want to be fancy. There's also some great appetizer recipes on Nom Nom Paleo. For example, these shrim and watermelon skewers look great: http://nomnompaleo.com/post/24408788595/paleo-eats-6-3-12 For a potluck-type-situation, I think they'd work well on shorter skewers. Kelly F
Hey CAK911, Adagio and Tom --- Thanks for your awesome suggestions!!!! I didn't see this post yesterday with your replies (not sure how I missed it). I ended up making everyday paleo meatballs. They were a bit bland though I love your all's suggestions though!!!! jrustdc
Too late to be helpful, but a knockout appetizer I fed my extended family on vacation is slices of cucumber topped with smoked salmon, topped with avocado. I squeezed a lemon over them to make the flavors pop. They disappeared in a flash.
