Dem
This may be a dumb question, but is there a difference in what you eat when you are doing a whole30 versus when you are following the whole9 lifestyle?
missmary
whole30 requires 100% compliance. whole9 lifestyle means you make your own choices about when it is "worth it" to eat off plan. For some people this might mean ignoring a tiny amount of sugar in a sauce, or it might mean eating fermented dairy once a month or it might mean eating pie once a year. You get to figure out the right balance for you and make your own rules to support your long-term health.
Delaine Ross
I love what MissMary said.. To piggyback, the Whole30 is not a "diet" but an "education." We figure out how each food affects us and then make our decisions on what to eat afterward (I must say, my aunt's carrot cake on Thanksgiving - which is also my bday weekend- WAS in fact, worth it but a sub sandwich in the break room at a conference would not be.) People who have done a Whole30 don't kid themselves and buy into "low-fat" or other advertising. If they choose to eat a food that makes them "less healthy" it is an educated decision based on what is important to them, not them being duped by marketing.
