Digestive Enzymes and Probiotic...

My husband and I just finished out first whole30! We convinced my parents who have very unhelathy eating habits to try it out! Just for 30 days! My dad is probably 40-50lbs overweight, my mom about 20lbs and so the idea of losing weight has been encouraging and exciting to them! I've done a lot of the reading and planning for them because I want to make it a smooth process and set them up for success!

They are on day 5, and my dad is feeling very discouraged because he feels like he is gaining weight and a lot more bloated. My husband mentioned trying to find a digestive enzyme and hydrochloric acid that is whole30 compliant. But I see that Now Super Exnzyme is no longer compliant. I called around the local natural food stores and the gentleman suggested this brand. It doesn't contain anything, it is 100% Vegetarian Capsule. I wanted to make sure that this was a good product before I tell my mom to go buy him a $35 bottle of digestive enzymes and probiotics! Can any of the moderators help!

I also read the article Enzymes 101, and I saw he mentioned this...

  • Strength/potency listed: Enzymes are rated on various scales (which are too complicated to go into here), but you want to see numbers beside each enzyme showing their strength. If it’s just a proprietary formula without strengths listed, be cautious—it usually means a weak product.

Can you tell me if those numbers after the enzymes are the strengths? This product got great reviews so I just need to know what whole30 says about it!

Genestra makes fantastic compliant probiotic supplements:

I started using the probiotics on the recommendation of my former nutritionist. I've seen them in any well-stocked health food and supplement dispensary in the refrigerated section if you don't trust Amazon. They are a bit pricey, but really legitimate.

I am at my last week of whole30 and the bloating hasn't really gone away.  Noticed this post was a few years old, and that some products might not be compliant anymore.  It looks like this product changed a bit, so wondering if this latest version is ok to use.

Thank you!

There does not appear to be an ingredient list on the link you've provided so we would not be able to tell if it is or is not compliant.

I thought it would have been under product information under the link, that is so strange.  I can't seem to find it anywhere online.  I took this pic from the back of the bottle so hopefully you can read it ok.  Can you also tell me what you are looking for specifically that makes it compliant or not?

Anyone that is wanting to take this supplement or any supplement that is doing the Whole30 program would be looking for ingredients that are contrary to what is allowed on the program.  Sugar, dairy, grains, soy, alcohol and some preservatives.

So this looks ok then? Theres a lot of things listed that Im not familiar with..

Doesn't look like there are non compliant ingredients in here but if you are going to take this, it's probably a good idea to google the items you're not sure about so you're informed about what you're putting in your body.
