hurdnat27
Hey guys! Just thought I would share some places I've gotten really great frozen seafood, for anyone not living in Alaska or Maine like me. I grew up in Seattle and we had fresh Alaskan salmon all the time, but being in upstate New York has taken that option away from me! Unless I want to spend $25/pound for it..no thanks. Trader Joe's has an abundant supply of frozen seafood; Sockeye salmon, scallops, halibut, tilapia, you name it. They are a little on the pricier side ($9 for two medium salmon fillets), which is why I was thrilled to find Target's Simply Balanced brand offers frozen seafood as well! I haven't looked at them all, but I know the frozen Sockeye salmon is wild-caught, so nutrient density is optimal. I got a bag of 3 LARGE fillets for $9 on sale for 25% off, but even not on sale that's still a pretty good deal! I know sometimes people scoff at frozen foods because they "don't taste as good", but I've never had experiences like that. Plus, if you're living on a budget (literally everyone), it makes your pricey protein money stretch just a little bit farther. Hope this helps! Scarlatina
We have ordered from Vital Choice (http://www.vitalchoice.com) twice now, and they are awesome! Free, fast shipping if you spend at least $99. Their seafood is excellent, they have reviews of the individual products, and they have recipes listed on the pages of the individual products. Highly recommended!
