DaisyBook
I know that I am allergic to olive oil. Typically, my stomach reacts with strong cramping and yuck. I'm getting ready to start my first Whole30. While I am fine with cooking with coconut oil or avocado oil, I'm wondering what people are using when they make their own salad dressings. Thanks for any advice!

Moderators ShannonM816 Posted July 28, 2015 Moderators Share Posted July 28, 2015 I think avocado oil would be okay, or macadamia nut oil. Sesame oil would work in certain dressings where you wanted that flavor. There's also walnut oil, or if you really want to get fancy, truffle oil. And don't rule out something like bacon grease either, if you find compliant bacon -- in that recipe, be sure to check that your dijon mustard doesn't have wine in it. (Honestly, if you like your avocado oil, you can probably just use it -- I listed the other ones because sometimes it's fun to try new things, but good oils can be expensive, so don't feel like you have to go buy them. Use what you have.)
