Alliruetwo
I didn't see this specifically asked or answered. Are there any commercially prepared salad dressings that are compliant? I have already started ordering olive oil and vinegar (on the side) when dining out, but, want to know if there are any other options out there when you are unable to make your own. Zyriel
There are. You need to read the labels. You're likely to find the compliant ones in the cold case. Bearing in mind that recipes change, and may even be different for the same product in different regions.... near me, Safeway carries Tessamae's dressings in their cold case near the salads. Some of these are compliant, though not all. I like the balsamic vinaigrette. You can also order from their website I think. I've seen a lot of people talk about ordering lemon wedges with their salads and squirting that on as a dressing. I haven't tried it myself, but it sounds like a popular option when dining out. Britishgal
I agree with zyriel...you will become a commensurate label reader on whole30. I still read the label of every item of food I buy. Every time I buy it.
GFChris
I would avoid restaurant vinegar when dining out, as it would be tricky to confirm whether it has added sulfites.
eboyle86
When I go to restaurants I always get lemon wedges for dressing. I just put lemon juice, salt and pepper and I'm good to go. If I know I'm going out I'll bring a small jar of my own but when it's a last minute thing, the lemon wedges are always my go to.
kruddock
Tessemae's has a Whole30 pack which includes all compliant dressings and sauces, you might want to try that.
Maryanne76
You can also find Tessemae's at Whole Foods in the produce refrigerator section.
Moderators ultrarunnergirl Posted September 17, 2015 Moderators Share Posted September 17, 2015 I never tried lemon wedges until my third Whole30. WOW! I couldn't believe how good it made my salad taste!
AbFabKat
Thanks for the lemon wedge suggestion! We are eating out with my in-laws for dinner tonight and restaurant salad dressing is always a mine field. I love lemon so this solution is perfect!
