Shauna825
Please help! I've read through the forums that spoke of diarrhea but none of them mentioned getting it so early on. Today is my day 1 on Whole30 and a couple hours after breakfast, my first Whole30 meal, I got diarrhea. The problem is that it wasn't just once. It won't stop. I had the flu two weeks ago with similar symptoms but I was completely better about a week ago. My breakfast was wilted spinach cooked in coconut oil, spaghetti squash, and two poached eggs. I also had two cups of black coffee over the course of about six hours. I ate my lunch, which was crack slaw (ground beef, ground turkey, shredded cabbage, shredded broccoli, carrots, and kale), balsamic sweet potatoes and brussels sprouts, and half an avocado. My stomach isn't painful but it feels like it's churning and I've had to go three or four times in the last two hours. What is going on with me? Is this normal? GFChris
It could be residual from what you ate prior to starting your Whole30, or you might be having a recurrence of what you had a couple weeks ago. I would avoid raw and cruciferous veggies and coffee, drink lots of water, and make bone broth and see if that helps you feel better.

LucieB
Just reading your meals churns my tummy! Spaghetti squash is guaranteed diarrhea for me. Some people get it from too much coconut oil too. Are theses foods new to your diet? Or are the amounts increased over previous? As for your lunch, cabbage, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, kale, sweet potato, avocado can also cause some upset in people, and you had them all in one meal! I haven't eaten those foods in over a year due to the symptoms they cause for me. Are these also new or increased?

All were cooked rather than raw which I believe helps reduce any stomach issues. Since lunch I'm feeling better and the bathroom trips have reduced quite a bit. Not sure what dinner will bring.
