Anybody make Pumpkin Smoothies?

Hi!  I know Smoothies aren't encouraged on Whole30 but I was thinking about doing some Pumpkin smoothies on occasion.  I've done those in the past.  I'm not and have never been a huge smoothie addict, but I find I'm getting a bit tired with the every day starch/protein/fat/veggies breakfast regime.

I've got lots of pie pumpkin from my farm right now to use up, so was thinking of a pumpkin based smoothie, with perhaps a banana, kale/chard leaves, coconut milk, some flax seed and almond butter.  As a bit of a break from the regular regime maybe once a week or so.

Thoughts?  Recipes?

By planning and drinking smoothies during your Whole30 you are doing yourself a disservice and undermining whatever results you may see.  Smoothies are liquid food which means that although you are taking in calories (and in many cases far more than you would if you just ate the actual food), your body doesn't recognize it as food.  This messes with hormones, satiation, blood sugar regulation and, especially in the morning, gives your body a hit of liquid sugars that can cause problems later in the day.

We would recommend you change up your foods if you're getting bored at breakfast.  You can eat anything at that meal that you would eat at any other time.  Chocolate chili, chicken salad, a warm curry over cabbage, an omelette stuffed with spinach and ground pork seasoned as sausage.  The options are limitless well before you ever get to smoothies.
