HokieHeather
I just started the 8th month of my 2nd pregnancy and I'm suffering from a lot of heartburn, constipation, indigestion, gas, sleeplessness, and joint pain so I'm planning my first Whole30 on 1/1/16 - I know some symptoms in pregnancy happen but I'm sure my diet/dependency on crap doesn't help many of these issues. Anyone else interested in joining me in a 1/1-1/30 Whole30 go at it?? I definitely would love some companionship!
jmcbn
Hi Heather - welcome to Whole30 There are a few group threads already on the go for folks starting on Jan 1st - you can take a look at one here - there may not be anyone else going through pregnancy on that thread, but the timeline will be the same regardless, and the level of symptoms dependant on your previous diet.Bear in mind that because you are pregnant your water intake should be higher than the standard recommendation of 1/2 an ounce per pound of body weight daily, and you will probably require a fourth meal (or at least a mini meal) which should be built to match the recommended food template just like the other three. If you've any questions just ask! creativenikki
I plan to start on 1/2/16, just because I know I'll be having champagne early in the morning of 1/1/15 for a toast (I'm EBF not pregnant). I'm sure I'll be on these forums all the time once I start. I wonder how this will go since I'm breastfeeding this time. I did a whole 30 last January and that's the month I got pregnant, so I was pregnant for about half of the Whole 30 but didn't know it. I'm very interested to know if the Whole 30 helps with your sleeplessness and heartburn. Those were both really annoying for me at the end of my pregnancy. Ankle swelling was another issue that I just could not get to go away. I was pretty active during my pregnancy, even up to the end, but my diet became less than ideal. Lectralove
Hi all! I'm starting 1/1/16, not pregnant but I am nursing my 6mo old. I'm excited to start! This will be my first round and my sugar addiction is ridiculous. I've been attempting a compliant breakfast and lunch to ease myself into things and it's been going pretty well! I hope to get to know you all better over the next month or so. Happy eating
ReformationBirth
I am currently 28 weeks pregnant and starting Whole30 on 1/1. Actually my whole family is doing it. I suffer from cholestasis of pregnancy, which also increases my chances of gestational diabetes. So I am hoping that it will help prevent GD from occurring, as well as maybe help with the itching I am dealing with due to the cholestasis.
