Just figured out a couple of things were non compliant - DAY 26!

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

I just figured out the applegate turkey has carageenan and that is off limits. I have eaten it several times over the last 26 days. Also that the applegate chicken Apple sausage has a small amount of honey. I had read that label repeatedly and didn't notice that until today :(

I feel kind of dumb.

Do I just chalk it up to a mistake and continue on or do I start over? I had planned to do 3 whole 30's in a row with a brief reintroduction in between.

Bummer.

Any advice is welcome.

Carrageenan is a major, major gut disruptor.  Honey is less of a big deal because it doesn't disrupt your reset.

Read the "starting over" article linked in my signature and you tell us what you need to do.

I just bought some of the chicken and apple sausage and after reading this saw that it has honey as well.  I thought you couldn't have any honey on your w30?

No, you're not supposed to have honey or any sweetener.

The chicken & apple sausage has been compliant in the past, but companies do sometimes change their recipes over time, and sometimes use different recipes in different regions. This is why it's very important to always read labels, even on things that you've bought in the past or that have been recommended here in the forum.

Did you buy the refrigerated package that looks like a package of hot dogs, or the freezer box package that is more like "breakfast sausages"?

The refrigerated package that looks like hot dogs is the one that is (or has been -- always read EVERY label!) compliant.
