HelenLA
I really enjoy spicy food and used to like to have Chinese buffet. One of my favorite things from the Chinese buffet was a condiment of oil with hot pepper flakes. I'm hoping someone might have a recipe they have made and has been successful. I thought of just putting crushed red pepper flakes in olive oil but I'm not sure of the amounts or whether it should be cooked or if other ingredients should be added. I hate to experiment and waste the ingredients. I did a search for recipes and could not find one that was compliant. thanks for your help. missmary
Pro-tip: when searching for recipes, try putting the word "paleo" in front of what you are searching. It doesn't guarantee that the recipes will be whole30 compliant, but it greatly improves your chances. Here are the first two I found that way: http://paleomagazine.com/paleo-chinese-chili-oil-sauce/ http://www.everydaymaven.com/2013/homemade-chinese-chili-oil/ Personally I would go with the second one, so it could be served cold or room temp without solidifying. HelenLA
Thanks for the pro tip Miss Mary! I will definitely remember that one. I would have thought that I would not have forgotten since I did the Paleo diet years ago.
jburth7
My TJ's actually sells a three pack of flavored olive oil and one is hot pepper - it's delicious!
