Day 10, Horrific Restless Leg Syndrome (RLS)

Recommended Posts

I have had RLS for many years, but has been very manageable in the past few years. Since starting Whole30, my RLS has been getting worse and worse every day.

I have read about magnesium issues, but I've been taking a supplement daily (new) and I'm also eating more foods with magnesium now than prior. Could it be that lots of magnesium actually increases RLS?

This is so bad I could not sleep last night until about 3 am. And now I even have it during the day too. It's never been this bad ever.

Advice????

Hi KayKay

Google is the best way to search this forum... Whole30 plus your topic.

I've started you off here with a google search so take a look at all these past threads and see if there's any helpful info in there.

I recently had a couple days of bad RLS and remembered that last time this happened I was dehydrated and sodium depleted.  I ended up taking a couple salt tablets and a lot of water last night and it was bad to its usual normal.  There is so little sodium in whole foods compared to processed food that you really need to pick up the salt shaker and drink more water than you ever have before. Try that and see if it helps.  The Natural Calm powdered magnesium is also more absorbable.
