Hquiche
Hi everyone, I am new to this forum and to the Whole30, so I am hoping my question hasn't been asked before. If it has, my apologies. Anyway, I would like to know, is there a limit to the amount of nuts (cashews) you can eat on this diet? I find myself constantly eating cashews and am worried that because of this I will not benefit from the weight loss or other health benefits of the diet. Should I limit the amount of nuts I eat or does this diet allow me to eat as many as I would like? Thanks so much
GFChris
The recommendation is to limit nuts on a Whole30, as they can be food without brakes, cause digestive distress for some, and there are better fat sources available. If you're constantly munching on cashews, you might want to consider banning them from your Whole30.Further, if you're munching between meals, chances are your meals aren't big enough. If you'd like to list a few days of your food log, we can give you some feedback.
Moderators ultrarunnergirl Posted February 4, 2016 Moderators Share Posted February 4, 2016 Stick to just 3 large meals a day for the next few days. You may get a little hungry, but that will help you craft your meals so they are optimally filling. Follow the Meal Template for each meal. Remember the portions are minimums -- eat plenty. ONLY use nuts as a condiment -- topping for your salads or tossed into cauliflower rice, for example. It's really difficult to eat them in moderation. Once they are gone, don't buy more. If you type out the meals you've eaten the past few days, we can point out how to round them out a bit better so that you will feel satiated. praxisproject
Sometimes nuts can hide hunger too, if you're snacking on them, when you really need more food.
