MorganLouise
I'm participating in my first Crossfit competition this weekend with 2 events tonight, 3 on Saturday and 4 on Sunday. This is the first competition I've ever done so I'm not sure how to eat between workouts let alone on Whole30. The events tonight go from 6-9pm so I won't be able to get in a real meal 3, same with tomorrow with events from 10am-2pm. I have about an hour in between events each day. Obviously the first workout can be a normal pre-workout with some chicken and a few almonds, but any advice in between would be helpful? Still needs to be light, but I'm sure I'll be hungry since I'll be missing a regular full meal. I was thinking and RX bar but not sure if anyone had other suggestions? Thanks! Moderators Tom Denham Posted January 29, 2016 Moderators Share Posted January 29, 2016 Eat roast chicken or canned tuna and baked sweet potatoes. Avoid nuts because they are hard on digestion. Food to eat during a competition does not qualify as emergency food, so an RX bar is not okay.
kruddock
I usually bring a small cooler and stock it with pre-cooked meats, jerky is excellent if it is compliant and boiled eggs. Cut up lots of raw veggies with some cooked ones. Maybe a salad? Don't forget your fat, that will sustain you. I like avocado, olives or mayo/dressings. A little bit of fruit if its not a problem for you but make sure you eat it with other food. Make sure you are getting your salt intake and drink enough water, you might need extra. Each night, take some magnesium and get enough sleep. Good luck and have fun!
