Starting whole 30 as a food blogger - Suggestions?

So, start with something like your in-laws visiting. If they don't have dietary restrictions you have to deal with and work around, the easiest way would be to make Whole30 meals for everyone while they're visiting. Many of the recipes are so good, they'd never know it was any kind of special diet. You could provide bread or rice or pasta as a side for them if you serve dishes that would be good with those things, and just have yours without those. For instance, you make a meat sauce, you have yours over zoodles or spaghetti squash, offer them actual pasta for theirs. Have bread and cheese available for them, but you skip those. They have wine, you have sparkling water with lime or lemon or olive in it. Serve a nice big salad with some home made (whole30 compliant) vinaigrette dressing. A nice dinner, not a huge amount of extra work for you to give them the things they might expect with their dinner. Or if you don't want to do pasta, there are plenty of other options. A nice roast with vegetables. A variety of meatballs or other finger foods. Basically, almost anything you could want to make, there's probably a way to make at least a good portion of the meal Whole30 compliant. If there's something you have in mind to make, I'd encourage you to google Whole30 plus that food and see if there aren't some recipes out there that people have modified -- you might get some ideas for ways to modify your own recipes.

If you're going to be taking them to restaurants, it may be a little more difficult -- you'll need to research the restaurants online, get an idea of things that seem like they might be compliant, and contact the restaurant to confirm things like what meat is marinated and cooked in or what ingredients are in vegetables and sauces. It's a pain, but not impossible as long as you plan ahead.

For the birthday cake, is it a recipe you've made before and don't really need to taste beforehand because you know how it's going to turn out? Or something new that might need tasting at different points to make sure it's okay? If it needs tasting, is there going to be someone around who could taste it for you and let you know how it is? That would be ideal. We have had chefs do Whole30 who would taste and spit if they really needed to taste something.

I'm not sure what your focus is as a food blogger, but I would think that writing up how you deal with these kinds of issues while doing a whole30 could be interesting to read about. Are you going to blog about Whole30 recipes, whether they're ones you develop or ones you find from other sources?

Thank you so so much Shannon!

I am on day 2 of my whole 30 diet. I already had a lunch date with my colleagues (Had only chicken and lettuce) and have a dinner reservation with my husband tomorrow (his birthday dinner). The resturant is a steak place but they are willing to moderate the food according to my new diet.

With my work schedule, it's tough to prepare 3 course meal and bring breakfast and lunch to work. So I have been eating fruits + salad + hamburger patties at work. We already have 3 dinner reservations when in-laws are coming. I need to manage it somehow!

About blog - I won't be blogging whole 30 recipe until I finish this whole program.

Are the 3 course meals for your food blogging work?  Whole30 doesn't require that you have 3 course meals.

To help keep things as simple as possible, could you integrate Whole30 recipes into your food blogging as you go through the process?
