Medicine for cold

Recommended Posts

You might want to try Throat Coat tea. But do read your label on this as some contain sweeteners like stevia leaf.  I have found this tea to be helpful.

I have also found to be helpful:  Make a tea with a tablespoon of fresh grated ginger, squeeze of half a lemon, 2 tbsp of apple cider vinegar, and a dash of cayenne pepper.

There are really no OTC medicines that don't have some non compliant ingredients. However you could try Tylenol if things get too bad.

That cold virus seems to be everywhere.  My sister swears that EVCoconut Oil really helps shorten up the duration.  Most folks are getting over it in 7-10 days,  she lopped about 5 days off with EVCoconut Oil straight from the spoon.

"5-6 tablespoons per day in food or melted and stirred into hot tea. Coconut oil has many other health benefits as well and is known to boost the immune system."

  • 3 weeks later...

Am on Day 14 and got a cold 10 days ago. I have been quite sick and off work for 6 days, really unusual for me. I am taking grapefruit seed extract and a herbal tincture called Respirafect by St. Francis. It has alcohol, but if you put it in a small glass of hot water and wait a bit the alcohol evaporates.

Also doing steams (towel over head over bowl with hot water) with Thieve's Oil, eucalyptus oil is also good. Oil of oregano on your feet, top and bottom around toes. Gargle with hot salt water. Hot lemon, ginger tea (fresh ginger)

You'd think all of this would clear it all up. My problem was that I was distracted by the detox that has been happening with being off sugar and everything else and didn't take the cold seriously until it was well established. Lots of this one going around here and people have been very sick.

Hope this helps.
