Christabel
I don't really like ghee so I tried making clarified butter so I can do hollandaise sauce with salmon and asparagus. It (the butter, haven't done the sauce yet) tastes lemony. Is that normal? It's fine for my purposes, I was just wondering if I did something wrong. Moderators ShannonM816 Posted February 6, 2016 Moderators Share Posted February 6, 2016 I've only made my own once, but didn't notice a lemony flavor. I'm not sure where that would come from. To me it tasted sort of flavorless.
Christabel
Well, the hollandaise was amazing so all's well that ends well. I was a vegan for ten years and bacon, cheese, and hollandaise are the three best things about not being vegan. (Although no longer being obese and riddled with RA is pretty cool, too.)
