abbeydaw
I am 9 days in and the egg boredom is starting to kick in... I have been starting the day with a variety of scramble & frittatas loaded with different veggies... usually with a side of butternut squash/sweet potato hash. Eggs are starting to seem really unappetizing after eating them for the last 9 days. This morning i had a mix of ground beef cooked with onions and kale, mixed with some baked sweet potato and avocado. This was good, but I am looking for any ideas you guys have come up with to fight the boredom!
Moderators ShannonM816 Posted February 11, 2016 Moderators Share Posted February 11, 2016 Anything you can have for any other meal of the day, you can have for your first meal of the day. Meatballs, soups, sausage, chicken. Here's one prior discussion with ideas, find other by googling Whole30 no egg breakfast.
VintageRescuer
Pre-whole30 I was use to my oatmeal everyday for breakfast. Although this is a bit frowned upon, I make a chia pudding for breakfast sometimes. Chia, flax, spinach, almonds, dates, coconut milk, cinnamon, cardamom, blueberry's, banana, ice cubes (am I forgetting anything??) all together in the blender and then I chill it for a half hour...I really love it and it keeps me full until lunch. Puddings are getting into swypo territory. Plus, where's your protein and vegetables? We don't stress following the meal template because we're big meanies who don't want you to enjoy breakfast, it's because it truly will help you to get all the nutrients you need, and help you stay full 4-5 hours til your next meal, and help you avoid cravings for sweets. If you're wanting something warm and comforting for breakfast, try some soup. I like a creamy, blended soup, and I either have some eggs or something on the side, or I mix some leftover meat or some breakfast sausage into it.
