completed the whole 30. very pleased with results. weight, the way im feeling, eating habits etc.

i planned to continue past 30 days b/c my sugar addiction is so bad and i have other emotional eating issues.

was doing great today on day 31 until i decided it was ok to have one of my sons larabars (that included chocolate). its not whole 30 approved, but technically on im on day 31, right? WRONG. one larabar led to another. and another. and then totally off into his cookies. OFF THE WAGON. when i wasnt even hungry!!!! (one of my major chronic eating issues).

without the structure i can't keep going. until i get past this all or nothing mentality i have to live on the whole 30. all rules in place. i cant trust myself without it. (side note i am in therapy to help work through this issue, which has continually sabotaged my weight loss and body image efforts).

have used this forum before to keep it real, put my truth out there, so here i am again. thanks everyone.

Day 1 again tomorrow.

You may find sugar (including in Larabar form) is a big trigger for you. You are most certainly not alone in that, I avoid Larabars (even the compliant ones) for a similar reason. The de-stabilise my blood sugar and then I get spikes and crashes and I get hungry and tired.

Which type of Larabar was it?

Don't forget to pat yourself on the back for completing your full 30 days on Whole30! this is a big deal. Make a list of all the things you have achieved in your thirty days, it's really good to look back on.

thanks so much for your reply. sugar is a major trigger. it was chocolate chip cookie dough larabar-he eats them for breakfast. larabars are a mjor problem for me-i did great nearly ruling them out during this whole 30, but it was that day 31 mentality-even though i said im continuing, it was like something in my head said, well its day 31, its ok.

im back on day 2 and doing great. sugar is a constant, everyday battle for me. i have not had any relief from that in the 30 days-its not just physical but mental (probably  more so) as well. i am seeing a therapist to help deal with it as well.

ive been doing bootcamp classes at the gym and combined with the whole 30 peopel are starting to notice a difference which is an incredible motivator. i know i can do it. i just need to keep battling this sugar thing head on.

I have a Cherry Pie Larabar in my office bar, but never touched it. I did have a chocolate sea salt Rx Bar in my purse throughout the W30 and I actually, legitimately needed it yesterday (day 27). Drank lots of water with it, and I was fine. No sugar cravings, which was a huge relief for me, because pre W30 I had a hard time stopping with certain sweets. Like cookies. Thankfully, my cravings haven't been an issue, and I'm going to do a pretty slow reintroduction on Day 31. I don't think dairy or grains will benefit me in anyway, so I'll continue to avoid them. Will have at some point so I can gauge a reaction.

jlj80, good luck with your sugar dragon! It's ALL mental.

I also just finished Whole30, my second round, and yesterday, Day 31, I totally splurged on sugar.  I felt awful and decided to get back on track today.  I have a huge sweet tooth and sugar is always an issue for me.  I will say that I don't so much physically crave it after my whole30, but mentally it's still an issue.  It's comfort for me.  I think even the fact that you posted and are owning it is HUGE, so kudos to you for that.  You know what to do and how to do it, so that's half the battle.  Be proud of yourself for that!  Whole30 is a difficult 30 days and you finished it and are more knowledgeable and in touch with what food does for you.  Keep that in mind and trudge on!!
