Jpkrueger
I know we are allowed to have this as long as the ingredients are compliant. I bought one at Trader Joe's and the only ingredients are ham and salt. But I'm a little confused because I didn't think "ham" was an ingredient....and there is definitely some non-compliant ham out there. Maybe I'm wrong about it not being an ingredient? The sugar grams are zero, if that helps.
Moderators SugarcubeOD Posted March 28, 2016 Moderators Share Posted March 28, 2016 This is fine. They have to list ingredients on the label, so if the ham was cured in sugar and then dipped in chocolate before being used for procuitto, they'd have to declare all those ingredients on the package. It's weird but some companies use 'ham' in place of 'pork'.
