Stomach pain while running

I'm on Day 12 and I've been having stomach pains while I run since starting my Whole30. I have only gone running 3 times since starting, however I am a regular runner that logged around 15 miles a week prior to Whole30. The pains don't feel like side stitches, and instead are in my stomach usually starting about a mile into my runs. I don't normal have a pre-workout meal, but I tried 2 hardboiled eggs today to see if that would help and the pain wasn't as intense, but was still there. I have never experienced this particular pain before.

Anyone else experienced this or are there any suggestions on ways I can prevent it? Or is this just a part of the Whole30 journey?

Following up on what praxisproject asked...are you salting your foods? Depending on how your diet was before you may have taken a huge hit in sodium intake which I believe could cause stomach cramps. I agree talking to your doctor would be good, but if you could also give us an idea of what you have been eating, drinking, etc we might be able to point out other things.

I don't see anything glaringly obvious though you are probably not eating enough starchy vegetables. Fruit isn't your best starch for activity recovery. Is your 1/4 of a sweet potato fist sized? I'm very active and I usually have a starchy vegetable with my 3rd meal and sometimes my 2nd. Rarely with my 1st because I feel like if I delay my starchy until later in the day my energy is better.

Thanks for the advice! I actually tried not eating starchy veggies with breakfast yesterday and felt like my energy was super low, so I'm going to keep my meal 1 starch and I will try adding more to my Meal 3 to see if that carries over to my workouts the next morning.
