Day 29 and Family wants to go out to eat, Help!

I tried to find a previous thread that may have addressed this already. I am on Day 29 and feeling fantastic! I am planning on doing a slow roll introduction because right now nothing really seems worth it to reintroduce immediately. However, my aunt text me earlier because she is in town and wants me to go out to eat with her and my uncle at a Japanese restaurant where they cook in from of you called Miyabi. I'm not sure if it is worth it for me to go or if I should make up an excuse to get out of it. I know I can't have pretty much any of the sauces they use and I can't have rice. So what can I eat? Does anyone have experience at this type of restaurant? I was thinking about maybe just getting shrimp and vegetables and asking them to not use any sauce when they cook it? At least I will know for sure if they do because they will be right in front of me. But my favorite part of these restaurants is usually all of the sauces I get, like ginger, the white sauce and spicy mustard. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I would eat before I go.  Drink some tea and eat some additional vegetables with the family if you're sure of the oil.

This is a good practice run for Day 31 and beyond. There's always another streetcar and restaurant invite coming around the corner.  Wild horses couldn't pull me away from finishing my W30 out with a bang.

Sneak in coconut Aminos /compliant sauces/yummy fats ;)

Call ahead and ask what kind of oil and seasoning they use. Then from there just say something along the lines of "I'm allergic to soy/rice/whatever... Can I just have unseasoned protein with a double serving of plain veggies instead of rice?" Usually they can set aside a part of the grill so that your stuff won't get seasoned the same. That way you can have the experience without the social outcast feeling that happens sometimes. There's still a chance there might be some cross contamination because the grills are shared, so if that's something you don't want to risk, then definitely eat ahead. If your ok with the possibility, then this is the way I'd approach it. Basically, call ahead, ask questions. Confirm answers when you get there, and be ok not eating there if you are concerned

Please dont lie and make up an excuse.  If you can't make the dinner, invite them over to your place after.. I think your plan of Veggies and Prawns will work, just buck up and do with out the sauces favorites or not.. You've come this far.. no sense is disrupting the apple cart now.

ps. if the oils non compliant.. Ask them to steam your stuff :)
