BriCan
Hi, I have been doing super well on the Whole 30 so far. Feeling great and completly enjoying it. I have not had any negative side affects at all but being cranky one day about three days in. This morning, I woke up feeling fine and then immediately started feeling nauseaus and vomitting. It has not gone away. Any ideas to what this may be? Please help!
Moderators ShannonM816 Posted April 22, 2016 Moderators Share Posted April 22, 2016 Stomach bug or a bit of food poisoning? Possibly morning sickness? I doubt that it's related to eating protein, vegetables, and fat (unless one of those was improperly stored or prepared). If you have broth, that can be nourishing and help you to feel better. Peppermint or ginger teas can help with nausea. When you can eat, focus on bland, easily digestible foods -- possibly scrambled eggs, baked sweet potato or potato, plain grilled or baked chicken. Drink plenty of fluids -- plain water, the peppermint or ginger tea I mentioned, maybe some coconut water, or if you're in the habit of drinking kombucha, sometimes that can help (now is probably not the time to try it for the first time, though). Moderators ultrarunnergirl Posted April 22, 2016 Moderators Share Posted April 22, 2016 Sorry you are under the weather! Nausea can be common if you are not eating enough, especially if you are skimping on fat. However, vomiting is not a normal side effect of Whole30ing, so my money is also on the likelihood that you are sick or have food poisoning. Hope you feel better soon. BriCan
Hi! Thank you for the responses. I definitely was feeling awful all morning and consistently throwing up. My boyfriend is eating the exact same food as me but had nothing happen, so I'm not exactly sure if it was food poisoning. However, it happened again. Two more days and today was the worst. I feel like I have the flue however no fever. No runny nose. Just aches and throwing up and literally everything has been making me nauseous even the lights in my office. I battle PCOS and it's the reason I went on the whole 30, because my whole life I had not been seen as your typical girl with PCOS until this year with my significant weight gain. Could the sickness be related to my insulin?
