Accidental/unconscious sugar slip during my whole30

Ok, so I know SUGAR is a no go. I know this and this is my 4th whole30, but I had a bit of a "slip" during the current one. I went to grab a coffee and the coffee was already sweetened, it was a small cup 2-3 ounces at most of light, watered down, sugar sweetened coffee. Thing is, I drank it, and it didn't even register to me at that moment. I swear. Not until now, like 1-2 days later, it hit me like a truck as I was thinking about drinking coffee today.

I usually make my own coffee and buy local and organic to avoid any of these mishaps but sometimes shit happens. I am trying not to be too hard on myself as I usually am. All my other whole30's have been successful, one of them helped me lose 30 lbs. as I stuck to the program for 90 days and did intense crossfit.

I haven't messed up in any other way and I am cooking 90% of my food.

Honestly, what I really want to know (although I am pretty sure I know the answer) does that void my whole30? Should I stop and restart it?

Hi Tiziana,

The moderators always send these questions to http://whole30.com/2014/06/really-start-whole30/

You may not have intended to drink the sweetened coffee, the fact that it didn't even register for a day or two tells you that your brain needs you to restart. It's not ready to accept your change, so the extra time is needed.

Just my two cents! ;)

Thank you, Kaelisan. I was wondering if I was in the right area of the forum. I am still pretty newbie to the W30 Forum. I'll extend it (I had already planned for it to be longer than just 30 days), because the process of restarting it would in all honesty be keep doing what I am doing (as I won't be eating any junk food for now), except buying coffee anywhere, but I'll give myself a kind "you messed up, girl, don't do it again mama, this is for your healt" talk and try to be more aware of things from now on.

I have a problem with being absentminded and distracted (since I was a kid, I space out frequently), I am not very self-aware and I have found W30 helps me a little with that, as I have to pay attention to my food and ingredients and the functioning of my body. Thank you for the quick reply and the support. <3

You're welcome! I am also going to continue after 30 days...I'm on day 24. A slip and starting over, though, would still bother me. But, those are the rules and can only help with our changes as long as we don't give up.

This isn't really the right forum for your post, but a moderator can move it, if necessary.
