Teacher Appreciation Week (May 2-6)...anyone else???!!!

I'm a teacher at an elementary school.  Next week, May 2-6, is Teacher Appreciation Week.  All week!!  I'll be on Day 11 on May 2.  Our PTO is fabulous and very involved...and they feed us.  ALL. DAMN. WEEK.  They provide us with a lovely breakfast, a catered hot lunch, DESSERT DAY and little snacks/treats with cards in our boxes most of the week.  The Board of Ed also hosts breakfast for us.  That's an entire week of food because there's always leftovers!   :o AHHHHHHHH.   :o

I already eat lunch in my classroom because I get work done after I eat (and I enjoy the peace!  LOL) so the temptations will be much less; I'll continue to pack my lunch next week and hang back in my serenity of my room.  BUT, I'll still smell, hear about and see the yumminess as people walk to and from their rooms between lunch periods. I do think I have enough discipline at this point to say, "No thanks.  That's not stuff I'm eating for the next couple of weeks until I figure out what's making me sick after I do eat that stuff."  I had to say that on Day3 at a First Communion party.

The truth of the matter is that I wouldn't have scheduled my Whole30 around Teacher Appreciation, but this coming week is about comfort food and all things yummmmmmmmmmmmy while at school!  Anybody else out there in a school system next week who is in the first half of their Whole30?

Hey Kristy! I'm a teacher and our appreciation week is next week too. However, I'm on my 3rd consecutive round (whole90?) and not so tempted by treats. I just figure those foods are always around. They will be around when you're done with your 30 days. There are diners everywhere that can serve you a delicious breakfast, ya know? You started this journey for a reason, to make some change in your life. One of my goals was to stop using food as a reward- I don't deserve to gorge on sugary, processed food because my (our!) jobs are stressful. I deserve energy, and alertness, and health!! We deserve tiger blood! Maybe encourage your PTO to add a few non food gifts. We have a massage therapist donating 15 minute sessions.

Good luck! You can totally handle this :)
