Help! I'm hungry! Day 9.

So, the reason I'm hungry is because I just didn't start my day right.  I've not fallen off the wagon and grabbed the leftover Bisquick chocolate chip pancakes in the fridge, BUT today is the first day I'm looking for them.  I don't know if this is because I didn't have my arsenal full of stuff I needed this morning to start with the solid breakfast I'm used to, I'm just craving sweet carbs or a combo of both.  I just never got to the point of satiation today; I'm really surprised to see how quickly my body has adapted to what it needs as opposed to what it wants!

Here's my food run so far today.  I'm finally feeling more satisfied right now, but a little help to stop this spiral would be awesome...thanks!!

Breakfast @ 815am- 2 Trader Joe's italian sausages; 1c spicy marinara sauce; 1 whole baked sweet potato with 1T clarified butter (Not enough veggies, fat or even protein, right?? I know!  UGH.)

Lunch- and I was HUNGRY by 12noon.   I had a hard boiled egg calamity which delayed lunch until around 1245pm.

So before I crashed and decided to eat the pancakes (which I did not!), I sliced 1/2 c of cucumber slices with about 1/2 cup guacamole, a couple of olives, 1 Chomp Stick and a small banana

HOLY HUNGRY at 2pm.

Snack- 4 deviled eggs (4 halves) prepared with mayo

STILL HUNGRY at 3pm

Snack- 2 Chop Sticks and about 1 c of hash browns sprinkled with salt and pepper cooked in olive oil; I even poured the olive oil from the pan onto my plate plus drizzled more.

I'm finally feeling more satisfied and now drinking some citrus mint herbal tea but would still love those pancakes.  I don't know that my brain has caught up with my belly yet.  I've been drinking plenty of water all day since 8am.  Even before Whole30 I only drank water and drink it all day.

What do I do the rest of the day to get me to dinner?

Thanks!

Lots of women report an increase in appetite in the week running up to their period, specifically an increased appetite/craving for carbs so it's possible that this is at play here....

That said, is this a typical day of food? If not, what IS a typical day?

Lunch today was never anything organized.  I was so hungry that it became grabbing things that I knew I could eat but never really ate anything for lunch.  I'm amazed how after just 9 days my body as adjusted to what it needs to go as opposed to what it wants.  It's 415pm, and I'm finally feeling full.

Oh, gosh, today isn't anything like what I'd normally eat.  Not even close. I didn't even feel like this the first couple of days.   I eat breakfast between 6am-630am, lunch at 11am, after school snack about 345pm and dinner about 530pm-6pm.  I'm NEVER hungry.  I eat 2 servings of fruit per day, but it's never on its own and always after I've eaten my meal.

Breakfast might be a couple of eggs, sausage or left over steak/ground pork/chicken a couple of good handfuls of spinach (or left over veggies) in my eggs or on the side- all cooked in olive oil or clarified butter; some left over sweet potatoes with clarified butter and cinnamon; a serving of fruit.

Lunch might be a couple of thinner chicken breasts (palm size) and 6 or 7 large shrimp sauteed in olive oil and garlic with extra olive oil drizzled on top after it's packed, a cup of arrabiata sauce (spicy marinara), a few roasted artichoke hearts in olive oil and a sautéed portabello mushroom cap;  serving of fruit

Snack might be a Chomp Stick (w/ fruit if I didn't eat it at lunch);  an avocado; couple of pieces of chicken and olives; a hard boiled egg; a few shrimp in a mayo dip

Dinner might be 1-2 servings of steak (or another protein); 4 or 5 cups...could actually be more...(raw) kale sautéed in olive oil; roasted red peppers in olive oil.

It seems that I need a lot more protein right now so I'm definitely moving more into the 2 servings of protein with each meal with the exception of breakfast where I'm likely more at 1 serving.  By around 6pm I'm done with food for the night. I'm truly not hungry in between meals-except right after school when I need a protein snack- I might have a cup of chamomile, lavender and lemon tea while we're hanging out at night.  I drink a TON of water all day.  That's all I drank before Whole30.  I've never been a soda drinker.

You are hungry because you are not eating enough food.

How much to eat

This was an anomaly!!  I reference the meal template a lot.  I haven't eaten like this in 9 days....which is likely why I was besides myself hungry today!  I didn't get to the food store last night as I had planned and didn't have everything I'd usually eat/need.  I never picked up momentum after breakfast because it was clearly not substantial enough compared to what I'm used to.  My breakfast usually keeps me satiated for 4-5 hours without a problem. This is the first day I was craving sweet carbs which someone mentioned could be more related to my monthly cycle.  I'm finally feeling satiated.  This was not a fun morning and afternoon!   :(  And, lesson learned!   I would've never thought that my body would've adjusted to the food it needs this quickly.  Wow.  I just figured at some point with what I kept eating that I'd be full and it never happened.  My body was angry with me today that's for sure!
