Turning 60 with Magic

I am turning 60 in 3 months, so this is a shout out to all participants of my age.  I'm on day 29 and I have to say that following the plan has been pretty easy for myself and my husband.  We've tried to think about any foods that we would want to add back in at this point, and we really haven't come up with any.  We've agreed that on "celebration" days we might adjust our eating for that one meal only, then get right back on the plan.

Am I seeing Magic?  Almost.  I'm not sleeping like a baby, but I am sleeping better.  I have more energy and I have fewer aches and pains.  And I am walking 30 minutes a day now that my foot is not in major pain anymore - that is a HUGE accomplishment for me.  Persistence is my keyword right now and I'm just grateful for the positive changes I'm seeing.  And I'm feeling so proud of my healthy eating and more activity that it just feels good all over.

I'm going to share one example of the Magic that has happened in the past 29 days.  Yesterday I returned my two grandsons (ages 5 and 2) to their parents.  I noticed that I had more energy after their visit than I have ever had after any visit before.  When we got to their house, they both immediately ran to their huge trampoline in the back yard.  The two year old grabbed my hand and wanted me to come in the trampoline with them.  Before Whole 30 I would have NEVER even considered doing that, so weighty and achy I was feeling.  But yesterday I didn't even give it a second thought.  I threw off my shoes and climbed right in and spent some glorious minutes trampolining with my grandsons.  I amazed the whole family.  On the way home I thought about that very visual change in my well being and energy level and it strengthened my commitment to live this program as a truth in my life.

Wow...how amazing is that. And I'm assuming you had arthritis or some other type of pain that caused the foot issues that is now gone.

It was interesting to me, on my first W30, how all of a sudden I noticed that my arthritic knees and shoulder were no longer hurting. The pain was just gone one day and I didn't really understand how the constant pain was affecting me until I didn't have it anymore. I also got rid of my migraines for 6 weeks until I went back to a SAD diet, now I know that food is a trigger for them.

Keep up the good work and recognizing the NSVs you are experiencing.
