Too much sausage?

I finished my Whole 30 a few weeks ago and am trying to maintain the basic guidelines. I have found the 2 easiest (and well-paired) proteins to be sausage and eggs...  The sausage I buy is always Whole30 compliant, but most of my life, I've thought sausage was "very unhealthy." Is that an old wives tale? If I'm limiting other damaging foods like grains, sugar, dairy, then am I fine? Or should I be limiting how much I eat sausage as my protein (to 1-2x a week, for example)?

Thank you!

Sausage is ground meat, spices and usually added fat from the animal of the sausage source... it's 'thought' to be unhealthy because of the animal fats (saturated fats) but we all know that's an old wives tale... unless it has a ton of preservatives and other junk in it, it's not any different than eating ground meat, seasonings and some added fat...

Well, my daughter lasted three days on Whole30. I had an appointment yesterday afternoon that went through dinner time. I left her with plenty of food in the fridge to choose from....but Daddy ordered pizza for the rest of them. She messaged me that she was "going to eat healthy for breakfast and dinners, but from now on (she) was going to eat whatever (she) want(s) for lunch and snacks". So, I'm going it alone again. That's alright!

I tried kombucha last night. I got GT's Gingerade. It was pretty good, but it left me feeling almost tipsy for a little while. So weird.

I'm getting low on my prepped food. Hoping to make it to Wednesday before I need to go grocery shopping or make some more.

The only thing I can think of would be that pork (assuming that is the sausage you are eating) is high in Omega 6 fatty acids.  However, since you are likely consuming drastically less O6 (due to eliminating vegetable oils and processed foods) if you are going to get some it might as well come from tasty sausage!

Just make sure to eat some good Omega 3 fatty fish too :)
