I need a nutrition change! & after reading the outline & guidelines to this program, I am pretty nervous! Yes I eat chicken & veggies, but I like my Quest bars, starbucks, and acai bowls! It will be an interesting challenge but I know I will reap the rewards after the 30days! Right?? Ordering both books today!

Hey there! I will be starting attempt number two of the Whole30 on 1 June also! The first time around I lasted about 13 days or so...during which time my chronic pain WENT AWAY!!!!! It was amazing. You can do it, I can do it; let's do it together! You'll love the books!

Yes downloaded the 1st book & currently reading it! My whole30 book should be here by the weekend! I have started to create my log book & pinned recipes on pinterest =)

Is there a way to create a subgroup so we can maybe start a group for June 1st?

I am starting my second Whole30 on June 1, too!

First time went great and I changed a lot of my bad habits, but I bungled the re-introduction. So my goal this second time around is to do much better planning and to stick with the re-introduction much more closely and less haphazardly.

Planning!

We can do this!

I"m choosing that day because I saw it here and it gives me time to try to understand what to do.. I have no clue as to where to start.   But looking at youtube videos so far

I hope we don't have to buy a lot of weird ingredients. I like short and tasty sweet and I have to cook for one for hope some of the recipes if not all of them can be used the next day..

Fantastic a lot of June 1st!  I am very excited about starting this, it will be nice to get the forum support!

not only is this good, I tried other programs on my own and just didn't get to the finish line.. I need community. accountability and rah rah sis-cum-ba..  the body is willing but the mind is weak an needs support training.

do you have your Whole30 Book?

Just finished reading It Starts With Food and started reading The Whole 30 kindle book. Filled the freezer with organic chicken, frozen vegetables for variety, and organic vegetables, fruit and spices from a local health food shop. I have no weight issues but have inflammation issues that other diets have not improved. I am ready to start the 30 day program on June 1st too.

I just filled up my fridge and freezer for the first two weeks.  I planned my menu through the entire 30 days, but it's not set in stone.  I can change it if I want!

I made up a jar of clarified butter, but when I tried to make the whole30 mayo, it was a complete failure.  I didn't see the sub-portion of the recipe where it said everything should be room temperature!  Also I think my olive oil is expired.  I don't know when it was bought.

Anybody else having troubles with getting ready for Day 1?

Welcome all! This is a great program!

Flaxen, there are a lot of threads regarding making mayo. I never warm my eggs and never have a problem. The mayo is so good, so don't give up. Make sure you don't use EVOO for mayo. Use light tasting olive oil. The extra virgin taste is too strong.

Any issues you have, search the forums first before posting a new thread. Almost any question has been asked before, and you don't have to wait for answers. :)

Katrine, the Whole30 book has a ton of recipes, so I recommend it. All the recipes I've tried are fabulous!

It sounded like a  good starting point. Coming soon and I said, hey, why wait. Do it and get better now.

check out what bad boy????

My picture didn't post!  I made a beautiful spinach frittata this morning to get some practice in for when I start.

I used eight sticks total to fill up my jar.  I had a rough time of it at first.  I had trouble finding the right heat to start the fat separating, and then I didn't have any cheesecloth so I strained it through an old (definitely clean!) rag that I placed over the opening of the jar.  I pinned the cloth to the jar with rubber bands, and pushed down on the middle of it to make a well.  Then I strained the butter through it, scraping off the solid bits as I went along.
