Hi All,

I am going to be finishing my first Whole30 next Monday on the 30th.  My husband and I are considering continuing.  I would like to take the 31st day "off"....not going to go crazy but have a couple end of the year parties and I'm sure there will be some non-compliant items.  We were then going to start again to complete a Whole 45 and do the reintroduction phase for the 10 days leading up to a Europe trip.  Does this sound like a good plan?  Or will that one day just screw it up totally?  I'm not totally committed yet to the Whole45 until I complete the 30 and see all the results.  Thanks for any advice.

All that's required for a reintro phase is 30 compliant days.   After that, you can take as many days off as you want to.  Some budget every weekend for 'offing'.

There's really no such thing as a 365 because it's impossible to go an entire year without one slip. That's the thing about Whole 30, you are  100% compliant and anything other than that is your own program.

Over the course of a 45 or a 100 day Whole 30,  if one tiny non-compliant item creeps in -that Whole 30 is toast. That's why 30 compliant days is best with a reintro that immediately follows.

There's no messing it up after the reintro.  You create a program and yours may include, budgeting every weekend for 'offing'.  Riding Your Bike is what it's called in ISWF.

I don't budget weekends for 'offing' because the next day becomes about starting over, mentally.   Off and on.   All or nothing cycles.   I don't do that anymore.    I created a plan that I can live with every single day.  It has consistency and direction and times of so worth it moments.  I'm all about creating a positive relationship with food that doesn't change on the weekends or holidays.   One that will see me through no matter what gets thrown my way.

^What LucieB said.

If it's the latter that 'one day off' will be enough to undo all your good work.

Do the 'results' include weightloss? Please remember this is NOT a diet. It's an elimination programme that affords you the opportunity to carry out your own personal experiment at the end of the 30 days to see what foods do or do not work for you. This part of the process is just as important (if not more so) than the 30 days. Please don't be disappointed if weightloss is not a side effect of honouring your body's needs for 30 days.

By saying "see the results" I am of course not talking only about weight loss.  I've printed out the list of all NSV but want to give it the full 30 days before I really sit down and think about all the great effects I have seen.  I guess I am referring to more of a Whole30 and a Whole15.  That would probably be a more accurate description of the potential plan.  Or possibly, just finish the Whole30 and then go straight into the 10 day reintroduction.  My Whole30 ends Monday so I just wanted to have a game plan going in to Tuesday.  Thanks for the insight.
