I am new to Whole30 and read an older forum thread that stated there weren't ANY broths that could be purchased that would be compliant. It went on to state that you would have to make your own broths to be truly compliant. That is what was confusing to me, since the ingredients listed didn't seem to be off limits???

Thank you both for your replies!

Older threads are good if you're looking for whether or not some specific additive is permissible. But when it comes to entire product categories like broths or nut milks, it's better to look at today's list of noncompliant ingredients and the package in your hand.

Remember, that there are older threads that say white potatoes are not compliant. ;)

In the last few years it's gotten easier to find pre-made products that are compliant.

Broth is actually easy to make, and generally, the homemade stuff tastes better, so I'd really recommend trying it sometime if you haven't before.

Looks like Kettle & Fire is whole30 approved. They're listed on their approved products page. Also is the only non-frozen bone broth I've come across.
