EJSmadhatter
I'm not a particular fan of all of oil. I don't like it and I can barely tolerate the light olive oil. Anybody recommend a good olive oil that I can try. I've got the coconut oil but I don't like it in salads. I usually use the grapeseed oil but can't do that on the whole
Moderators ShannonM816 Posted June 25, 2016 Moderators Share Posted June 25, 2016 I use California Olive Ranch brand. It doesn't seem to have the bitterness a lot of other evoo has. I've also found that infused olive oils, like garlic infused or lemon infused, are good and don't have a noticeable olive flavor. You could also try avocado oil, macadamia nut oil, pecan oil, or other oils from compliant items. The nut and seed oils aren't ideal fat sources, so you don't want to depend on them as your only fats, but they're nice to have occasionally for something different. When you buy these oils, even the evoo, store them away from your stove/oven, someplace where they won't get too warm, as some of them will go rancid over time if the go through temperature changes. For the nut and seed oils, if you find you aren't using them often, you can even put them in the fridge. That's where I keep my sesame oil that I just don't use often.
