  3. A little something like fish sauce for umami and/or some added spice is usually good to counter the sweetness from the coconut aminos.
  4. It contains molasses, so no.
  5. Hello, Is the No Soy, Soy Free Sauce made by Ocean’s Halo Whole30 compliant? The coconut aminos add too much sweetness to food, where this taste just like soy sauce. It is also gluten free. Thanks in advance for answering my question.

  7. R2D7 CD26 1st: sausage and eggs 2nd: chicken thigh 3rd: shrimp curry snack: leftover chili I'm going to be so glad when this hunger subsides. Also when I get used to the fact that coping mechanisms are a lie so my body/brain will quit craving carbs in response to emotions.
  8. R2D6 CD25 1st: bacon and eggs 2nd: skipped, oops 3rd: marinated sirloin snack: sweet potatoes fried in ghee WHEW PMDD is kicking my butt. On the verge of tears all day, self loathing, etc, etc. I de-loaded on my lifting workout by about 20-25% today and will probably do so all this week. Gavin said he was feeling irritable and grumpy most of the day. I'm really struggling with body image lately.
  9. On the Whole30 Forum, I came across a post with a few different UK residents on it. Regrettably, I haven't been able to locate it!!! Because we don't have access to all of the goods and brands that Americans do, Whole30/Paleo is different in the UK. I wanted to start a community for those of us in the UK who are interested in sharing Whole30 tips and tricks. Is there anyone else around???? --> Provide your response here —> I'm not from the UK, but from Germany, and I believe we have similar problems, such as a lack of Whole30-compliant sauces and a lack of compliant sausage. lol
  10. R2D5 CD24 1st: leftover steak w/ scrambled eggs 2nd: DUCK and roasted potatoes 3rd: leftover roasted potatoes and sausage Last night, Gavin had a dream that he ate Cheetos at the cookout and woke up mad that he had broken Whole30. We had a good laugh about it this morning. WHY DID NO ONE TELL ME ABOUT DUCK?! It wasn't that hard to make, didn't need to bake for very long, and is hands down one of the best things I've ever eaten. I really, really, really miss my unsweetened almond milk in my coffee.
  11. For any foods you want to use during Whole30, you'll need to read the ingredients and check that they're all compatible with Whole30 rules. I didn't check all of their seasonings but the one bacon seasoning I checked contained maltodextrin and sugar, neither of which are Whole30 compatible, so that one is definitely out for Whole30.
  12. Are the Deliciou brand plant-based seasonings Whole30 compliant?
  13. Did a grocery run yesterday and it feels good to have some staples in the house. First two meals of the day were relatively healthy, at this point in my transition incorporating veggies is HUGE step. I'm a little anxious about beginning this way, but know the power of showing up each day in other activities and the momentum it can create helps. I'm willing to be willing. Even though I know this isn't actually part of a Whole30, it feels good to be here with an awareness of where I am instead of in complete denial. My normal goto is to try to get in shape before I try to join the gym... but do

  15. R2D4 CD23 1st: chicken salad w/avocado, bacon 2nd: chili, baked chicken thighs with bbq sauce 3rd: ribeye and fried potatoes Went to a chili cookout and the recipes I picked were phenomenal. Everyone loved the chicken. I could eat ribeyes every day for the rest of my life. YUM.
  16. Vanilla extract is fine, following this rule change: https://whole30.com/whole30-extracts/
  17. I've decided to jump in (at least in writing) while I'm feeling motivated. Not sure yet of my start date, but would like to use the momentum I have now to propel me toward a well-deserved and much needed Whole 30... um should I call it a reset? lol Feels funny to call it that since I've been totally off the rails for a (long) while now. Hope keeping a log will help! My most recent W30 was this past summer and it felt GREAT! Prior to that it had been years... (I didn't even know I had an account -- but I've had one since 2012! Yowza.) Over the next couple days/weeks the idea is for me to s
  18. R2D3 CD22 1st: 2 sausage patties, 2.5 eggs 2nd: chicken salad w/avocado 3rd: fajita shrimp w/peppers, onions, and avocado snack: cherry tomatoes with ranch I was sorely tempted at a friend's house. Carbs/ processed food everywhere! Oreos, chocolate chips, peanut butter, AAAARRRRGGGGHHH!!! One of Gavin's coworkers brought in cookies from Costco. Whew, what a day. We stayed strong.
  19. R2D2 CD21 1st: 3 sausage patties, 2 eggs 2nd: chicken salad w/avocado 3rd: marinated pork chops Note to self: don't freeze the raw sausage patties. Breakfast was difficult to eat this morning. Delicious, but I just wasn't in the mood for it. I would kill for a coping mechanism that actually works to relieve stress AND isn't harmful.
  20. Hi! So I am on day 32 of whole30…. I haven’t started reintro yet - I’m actually considering doing a whole60 - because I am still really bloated and I want to figure out what’s causing it and how to get rid of it. A bit of background: I’ve been getting bloated as soon as I eat every morning for the last 5 - 6 years and staying bloated the rest of the day. The only time of day I am not bloated is first thing in the morning before eating. This has remained pretty much the same on the Whole30 diet, except the bloating is not as severe and once in a while I don’t bloat till later meals in the
  21. Whole30 HQ is taking it up directly with the partner and it will be fixed. Thanks for bringing this to our attention.
  22. R2D1 CD20 1st: 3 sausage patties, 2.5 eggs 2nd: 2 frozen pieces of salmon (~6-8oz) 3rd: creamy Tuscan chicken snack: carrots and ranch I feel like I ate way too much, but oh well. Not that happy about the snacking. At least it wasn't a pound of almonds! I had breakfast around 6am and didn't actually get hungry again until 1 or 2, so that's cool. We had a very late dinner, probably around 8pm, and I was really hungry by then. The chicken was AMAZING. #ThighSquad #TeamThigh #HighOnThighs Gavin crushed his first day. He turned down cake at work and bar fo

  24. I have the Vanilla dandelion teeccino and just realized it has vanilla extract. so that would be out correct?
  25. Any bacon that only contains Whole30 compatible ingredients is fine to have on your Whole30 -- check the labels of what's available in your local stores. The most common non-whole30 ingredient for bacon is typically sugar or sweetener, so definitely look for that. Pederson's is one brand in the US that offers Whole30 compatible bacon, but there are others. Whole30 Approved is a particular program, you can read about it here -- there are brands of bacon that are Whole30 Approved, you can look at that link to find them, but there are also brands that are compatible with Whole30 based on th
  26. Well done everyone. We made it! I’m not going to stop the food yet, I know it’s not about scales but I’d have liked to have seen some weight loss and I didn’t really, certainly not substantial. I will probably do a combination of strict food in the week, more relaxed but compliant at weekends, plus wine. I’m not going to do reintroductions yet, I know dairy makes me miserable and grains make me hungry! I’ll probably do that til around 23rd Dec, then have Christmas week, then we always do dry January anyway so probably do another round in jan. even Christmas week, I can’t see me eating too much
  27. Thanks @britgirlI am really happy I did this too and also appreciate the support. I am surprised to find myself wanting to continue albeit with a little more relaxed approach. Staying out of the biscuit tin would be a good thing this month. So I will slowly introduce and likely just the odd glass of wine for now. I have enough food and recipes to keep me on a roll. For now at least!
  28. We’re very nearly done! I’ve filled the fridge with compliant stuff so will try and carry on now it feels second nature, and not fall into a plate of mince pies tomorrow, but my name is most definitely on a latte at some point in the next couple of days. Made cauliflower soup with some lovely home made chicken stock in the slow cooker today which I’ve overcooked and it smells disgusting! What are you two going to do now? This is the hard bit in many ways with less clear rules and so requires more will power I find. I have lots of social things on now ( and Christmas baking to start- stock
