  1. My doctor asked me to do a Whole30 to try to solve a number of health concerns. I work in the food industry and was highly skeptical of a diet that eliminates whole grains and legumes. But I have tried so many diets and techniques and I kept gaining weight and suffering from migraines, so I agreed to do this. Today is my last day and I just got off the scale - down 14 pounds! And I haven’t had a migraine in 30 days, after having them weekly for the past two years. I miss legumes but I also wonder if they contribute to my health issues. I will pay special attention to this

  2. Hi everyone! I'm starting on July 1st! This will be my first time with this program. A little about me - 29 years old, recently-ish married so the "happy" weight has definitely caught up with me. I am at the heaviest I've ever been and overall just not happy with myself or my food choices. I'm looking forward to getting back on track with a healthier lifestyle, especially before we start our family!

  3. I find it interesting that the OP has no other posts here. This means we can't go check out a log of his intake and activities just to see what he was actually eating, nor do we see if there were any Non-Scale Victories (which honestly are the best part of Whole30 for me). Whole30 isn't a weight-loss plan and doesn't claim that you won't gain fat. It IS a strict elimination intended to "reset" your system and give you a baseline from which to determine if you have intolerance to any of the removed food groups (with potential to test individual foods within those removed groups, if desired

  4. That is so frustrating, particularly when you feel like you had some good momentum going - I remember attempting the W30 a few months back and was foiled but a different event, and felt pretty bummed....and eventually got around to thinking that I at least built up my W30 muscle (like with any practice) and got through (arguably) the toughest days of the W30, which is often the first half... So holding the dialectical approach - it sucks...AND you just spent a solid 16-17 days giving a the great gift of nourishment and care to your body!

  5. I had started on June 10th, but got knocked out of the program this week by an ugly bug and resulting treatment. If I've counted right, should be done with meds around the 1st, would love to join in and try to regain the forward momentum I had going. I've done W30 a few times before, know the positive results it can bring about and am badly in need of them.

  6. hey @Samantha Ribeiro I agree with what sugarcubeOD shared. While smoothies and protein powders are not recommended on Whole30 and strongly discouraged, it is not a hard fast rule. The biggest reason Whole30 encourages real food over drinking our food is that the process of chewing food instead of drinking it helps accomplish a greater level of satiation and keeps us connected to the concept of choosing to consume real whole foods as opposed to quick drinks, fast foods, and not nutrient dense options. The other issue with protein powders is the number of ingredients that are typical

  8. Took the plunge and started today! Would love to support you all in your journey as well... it makes the tough times easier when you have support. @CarolMaureen - How's day 1 going so far? I hear you on needing to lose the belly... I call mine my "wine belly" and guess what? It's gotta go! Day 1 here is good so far, but I already have a headache. It must be the sugar calling

  9. Hi, I am rejoining and starting today. I have done this several times in the past, and only finished once. I have been playing around with other diets and have been unable to commit. What I have accomplished is cleaning out my house of any sugars, breads etc. My motivation this time is that my son wants to do a strict Keto. I do not do well on Dairy but thought this would be a nice compromise. I will just add cheese to his portions. He lost 50 lbs and then gained back 20. I have put on the standard peri menopause 20 in the last year, went up a size and turned 55. I am tired, weak and

  12. Sounds good to me! I've already cut out a lot of grains and sugar as I've been reading up on Whole30. I know a bit of the basics of, but I got my book in the mail today, so I'm looking forward to learning more. My doctor recommended Whole30 to lower my cholesterol and I do need to lose some extra weight. I'm also hoping this will help with my blood pressure. Let's do it, ladies!!

  13. Hi! I'm Char Gorman and am toying with a June 24th or July 1st start date. We have some big celebrations coming up this week (my bday, my work going away party and others), so I'm thinking it best to start July 1. Let me know if you're committed to this date and I'll start with you.
