    Fear of going back

I’m on day 22. Much like substance abuse, I’m afraid to reintroduce sugar, cheap carbs, and dairy in any form because I’ll slip back into addiction. Has anybody experience this?

  2. This last half of the month is going to be busy and exciting! I’m glad you are on the mend. Don’t push yourself too hard give time for rest. I do hope “Dude” and his momma come out from the visit unscathed. Please don’t beat yourself up. You’ve made him aware of the circumstances, you’ve done what you can do and his response to all this is his own. tossing out the “fat jeans” what an accomplishment and a show of confidence that you won’t need them in January! Seriously it feels good to let those old things go.

  3. Day 46 No worse for the wear. Feeling like I'm recovering. In other good news, we have a closing date on the house: October 26! I scheduled movers for Oct. 30, so I have two weekends to finish packing. Even though I'm not 100% yet, I do think I can start packing some small bathroom and kitchen boxes. Just a couple a day will get me there. And I think I can make it the rest of the month without my full supply of spices. The Dude is super stressed about my COVID diagnosis and its implications for him and his mom in having been exposed. I feel so bad about having brought more stres

  4. 10/15 Day 11 1/3 of the way there, not that I’m counting or anything 7:15 up with the toddler. Got his breakfast going and put a load of laundry in. I fell asleep at the table making a grocery list waiting on baby to eat. My kids sent me back to bed. 8:30-10:00 sleep 10:30 M1 - 2 eggs with basil cooked in ghee. LO sweet potato apple medley. Dishes are done, the microwave is clean, laundry is started and I need a nap. But alas my 14DS needs my assistance with annotating President Theodore Roosevelt’s speech “The man with a mud-rake” my brain is not functioning at a hig

  5. I saw that too! Glad you asked this. I was thinking, did I miss something and a cranberry is a legume? I wonder if whoever controls the content of that page can update it to say "cranberry bean" so that it's not so confusing!

  6. Day 10 “I Keel You” 7:45 up have to get the day going. Ugh! I’m so glad my in person client agreed to internet meeting today. My hubby told me last night that he thought I should stay home because he was worried about me falling asleep driving. He also said my body is telling me to rest and I need to listen. He is so wise and takes such good care of me. I find I like having someone like him to “submit” to. He is also a great escape goat for things. Lol. So I made the arrangements to stay home today. I’m very glad I did because I’m still dragging and made need a mid morning nap.

  7. Hi AndreaElizabeth, Here's a helpful article written by Melissa about whether you should start over or not. https://whole30.com/start-over/ It depends on what your goals are for this round. If it is to kick a sugar dragon, then you might consider starting over. If not and sugar was the only non-compatible ingredient in the pistachios, it might be ok to continue on. Especially since you have a vacation planned that would interrupt your Whole30 round if you had to start over. Hope this helps. Kay

  8. @decker_bear I fought off the “eh close enough” urges by getting on Instagram and looking through recipes and printing some out to try. By the time I was done i had enough fun new recipes to try for about two weeks. Then I was sad because I only had a few days left on my whole 30 and my son asked couldn’t you still make those recipes even if your whole 30 is done. Out of the mouth of babes, am I right. I then decided to plan out my Re-intro. Planning the Re-intro made the last few days speed by. Do not stop, just press on. You can succeed, failure is not an option and therefore no need

  9. Cranberries are fine. I had never heard of cranberry beans, but a quick Google shows there are such things, and those are not ok. "The borlotti bean is a variety of common bean first bred in Colombia as the cargamanto. It is also known as the cranberry bean, Roman bean, romano bean, saluggia bean, gadhra bean or rosecoco bean. The bean is a medium to large tan or hazelnut-colored bean splashed or streaked with red, magenta or black"
