  1. R3D8 was a fairly decent day despite the nasty headache. I was hoping this part of the W30 would be past by now, but it's not and it's frustrating. They are hitting me about the same time everyday and, to be honest, I'm not sure what's causing them. I check my water intake to make sure I am getting that, and that doesn't seem to be the issue. Hopefully they will pass soon. I have noticed my joint pain is improving and I am starting to sleep better. The chicken shawarma did not go as expected. I had planned to do it in the rotisserie, but I changed my mind last minute and decided to

  2. What a morning ... nothing terrible, just one little thing after another. Woke up late, faucet handle broke in my hand, didn't have time for breakfast, hair decided today was a good day to be frizzy, no staff parking spots left ... But, rather than stop for a double-chocolate muffin I brought a little extra food in my lunch - today is my weird double mini lunch day so I'll have lunch one a little early and make lunch two a little more substantial. But it would be nice if today would just calm down a little. I was going to do a chicken stir fry last night but wasn't in the mood, so i

  3. 17th Jan - Day 10 I don't remember tbh, veg and smoked pork still I'd imagine, as we only just finished the last of the pork today. 18th Jan - Day 11 M1 - Fresh veg from the garden sautéed in ghee, with a fried egg and some cherry tomatoes M2 - Probably nothing - It rained all day, I drank a lot of coffee M3 - Rissoles (Paleo Running Momma's salisbury meatballs) with a sautéed veg mix same as the morning (Noodle Beans, Kohlrabi, new potatoes, beetroot, carrot, zucchini)

  4. I'm back to my regular schedule. I ended up having to travel last week. Rxbars for breakfast and lots of Chipotle I had an Rx bar for breakfast this morning, and another Whole 30 bowl from Chipotle for lunch. Meal planning and grocery shopping are on today's to-do list. I've been compliant, getting my steps in, and sleeping really well. My pain is ok, and my energy is great! I haven't had time to contemplate all the What-ifs and Why-is-thises that I usually do. Maybe that's been a good thing - just going through the motions without all the ruminations. Anyway, I'm back on schedule, so

  5. Day 14-18 Good Morning! Feeling really good today so far. I slept like a rock last night, for over 8 hours. I've been sleeping pretty terribly for over a week, so this is really good news. I generally don't have problems sleeping, but with the pandemic, I started waking up in the middle of night earlier this year, and started taking broad spectrum CBD oil before bed, which really helps with my sleep, anxiety, and general feeling of well-being. I decided to try giving up CBD, and all THC products, with this round of Whole30, so where I could get with managing my sleep and anxiety thro

  7. Day 13, Monday January 18, 2021 M1: shepherd's pie 11:00am snack: pecans and dates M2: tomato veg hamburger soup from the freezer 3pm snack: pineapple, dates, pecans 5:30pm snack: Larabar M3: marinara sauced ground beef on top of spaghetti squash I had insomnia again last night. Sigh. NSV: My belly is less fat than it was two weeks ago and I feel like I've lost a bit of weight. I was hungry at 11:00am, so I had a snack. I was super hungry at 5:30 so snacked again. The 3pm snack was just habit. I spent time today moving much of the excess and

  9. Sweet orange peppers then! I buy the orange/brown skinned sweet potatoes, but will be trying the pink fleshed ones soon... I'm curious if they'll be orange inside and taste the same or not. Carrots are so versatile, I hope you enjoy them, and cantaloupe... yum! Try it with a sprinkle of salt for a change. I'm with you on wanting orange on my plate. Way to go getting the first week done.

  10. Glad you all made it through the weekend! I had a wonderful time up in the mountains, and had no problem keeping on track. Good friends of ours have a cabin up there, as well, and we hung out with them the entire time. It was weird not having drinks with everyone, and I got REALLY sick of La Croix's, but it was much easier than I had feared. Just got back home and went on a quick grocery run for the week. Thank goodness I have a ton of food ready to go in the freezer, since I have no interest in meal prep today...

  11. I’ve had a good day today and it’s now 6pm and I feel bouncy still! Maybe this is the feint growling of the tiger??? really nice food today; I’d half made coleslaw last night, made the mayo this morning and added tahini and lemon for a sort of hummus-y type mixed up salad, with shredded chicken, avocado chunks and flaked almonds. I took a little tub with cherry toms, mini cucumber and olives to work but didn’t eat it as I didn’t need it after my big salad! Dinner was parcel sea bass- spinach, toms, sea bass, lemon oil, all baked in foil, then opened up the foil and used almonds, seas

  12. I'm here lagging behind you guys on Day 8 but being part of this group and you guys blazing the trail is definitely keeping me motivated and on track! I have to go to the office two days this week (unfortunately my 'office' is actually the hospital so that makes me quite nervous) but I got my breakfast and lunch all packed up in the fridge waiting and my teabag and travel tea cup are even ready for tomorrow already. My drive to the hospital is quite long (about an hour and 10) and in the mornings if I'm feeling drowsy, I usually have a mint... I'm hoping that I'm far enough along in the Whole

  13. This is a good thought process to apply to all foods - to ensure that you're not trying to cram non-compatible food into compatible packaging. the good thing is, that unless you're coming off a massive hot dog or breakfast sausage addiction, these are fine. Baked goods of any kind are definitely not fine as per the rules but other things, such as say... almond coated chicken tenders would be fine... again, unless you were coming from a place where all you ate was fast food chicken tenders. Does that make sense?
