Really, it should be the other way around: "Other than real food, what kinds of processed, artificial, homogenized, hydrogenated, chemical-laden, or hormonally imbalanced imitation food products do you consume?*
*Please attach another sheet if necessary."

Back to " a little wont hurt". Why is it that knowledgeable dog owners know not to give their dogs " a little chocolate, or a little grapes" because it can kill them!!!! But they keep on stuffing their faces a little bit at a time, with things that will make them less and less healthy.... Oh yeah..." A little wont hurt!!!!"

Excellent! Now could you please start harassing Chipotle? They need to clean up their act. They could so easily be Whole30 compliant.

But Melissa, it's a VEGETABLE! Leafy greens! I bet it's excellent sauteed in coconut oil with a little nutmeg, coconut aminos and coconut milk. And pomegranate seeds of course. Everything is better with pomegranate seeds. Throw a handful into the crockpot when you are stewing the bone broth. Just like parsley, only better. Mix it in with the pico de gallo or mash it in guacamole...just like cilantro, only better. I bet it would be good in broccoli slaw too, or as a garnish for stir fry. Mixed in the salad......
TRUE story: Back in the day my parents grew their own and kept it in the fridge. My mom went to the hospital to have my baby sister and her mom stayed with us. She found the baggie of what she thought was oregano and cooked up a big delicious pot of spaghetti sauce. Yes she did. Used allll of it. And funny, I was a kid who didn't sleep, but I sure did sleep that night! Hahahahahaha!!!

My dental hygienist told me today that a low-carb diet will give me periodontal disease. She said that the carb digesting enzymes secreted during the eating process do not know what to do when we don't eat carbs, so the enzymes turn into sugar and cause mouth bacteria.
    Never heard that one before...
I told her that my periodontal issues had greatly improved since giving up grains/sugar. She said that they will get bad again if I don't eat carbs. (I've been mostly Paleo for 3 years now.)
I didn't bother to argue. What's the point? She is convinced she is right.

This blog has a good simple pickle recipe from the nourishing traditions book by Sally Fallon. I am trying that recipe today and the pickles aren't ready yet so I will repost in a few days and let you know how it went.

I have enjoyed making my own fermented veggies from my abundant farm share. It is a great way to preserve fresh veggies and you get a probiotics boost! It helped me a lot with constipation issues I was having.
