It is below freezing out there.  If we wait until the perfect conditions we'll never get anything done.  About every 1-2 hours, I am going out into the yard and  snow-running in place with my trekking poles swinging my arms back and forth. I can see the house and make a run for the door when my face starts to freeze. My dog tells me when it's time to give it a rest, she makes a run for the door, holding her freezing paws up.
After about 10 days of coasting on your laurels, you're going out backwards. It doesn't matter what you did for 60 days or months or years ago,  today is the day that you move.
Work with your environment, find exercise you enjoy and do it on your own terms. If I was running in the deep snow by myself... that wouldn't be good common horse sense.  So I'll improvise and make it work. I can't wait for the spring thaw to maintain tree trunk thighs. I'm not driving into town for the gym.  Been there, done that.  It didn't last and I loathed every minute of it.
If it's not sustainable for you now, it won't be for the rest of your life.  Think waaay into the future.
There's no such thing as the Finish Line.

It takes a few days of 'empty time' before ideas start to show up. Empty time can result in boredom but the flipside is creativity.
Those beautiful lyrics from The Boxer are ringing in my ears today.  The ones about change and making changes.
After changes upon changes we are more or less the same.  Truer words were never spoken.  You can take the girl outta of the country but you can't take the country or honky tonk out of the girl.
We are more less the same. I catch myself enjoying the Snoopy Christmas special just as much as I always have. I have another folkaronie who watches every old Christmas show by himself and does not really feel it's Christmas until that yearly routine is complete.  He didn't receive too many presents under his tree either. There's nothing wrong with being a child at heart and that's a big difference from being childish.
Enjoy your holidays through the eyes of a child. Wish for a dog or a smoke signal from a loved one. We are more or less the same even after we make big changes.  Your true essence is just fine.
Now the years are rolling by me
    They are rockin' evenly
I am older than I once was
    And younger than I'll be
    But that's not unusual
    No it isn't strange
    After changes upon changes
We are more or less the same
    After changes
We are more or less the same

Toast your sweet potatoes in the toaster.  Have you heard about it. Ayup.

Slice the sweet potatoes lengthwise into 1/4 or 1/3 inch width and toast..in your toaster.  Then you add your toppings.  Avocado, fish, olive oil, over easy eggs,  taco meat, turkey, smoked salmon, herring, halibut, roast beef, brisket, pork chop, chicken, lobster, shrimp, crab and olives, so on.

So I'm thinking you could do the exact same thing with eggplant slices. Toast them in the toaster. Add your tomato/meat sauce. I'm trying it.  It's fast and portable, doable on the go. Saves you baking them in the oven when you're pressed for time.
