  1. Hi friends I've searched through the Forum and have not yet found an answer to my question, so I hope this isn't repetitive. I'm trying to find a compliant canned chicken. I did find mention of Costco's canned chicken, which I have (the Kirkland brand). However, one of the ingredients listed in the seasoning (which is the last ingredient on the label) includes modified food starch. So the ingrdeients are chicken breast meat, water, seasoning (salt, modified food starch, sodium phosphates, chicken broth and natural flavors) It's only part of the seasoning. Would this be considered non-compliant?

Oh nice!! A bubblebath! What a great way to celebrate passing your exam. (Congratulations! ) I feel the same way about the same foods, including avocados now. I've been trying different recipes too & started following the official Whole30 recipes on Instagram. Also following "everylastbite" on Instagram. Last night made her Chicken Pot Pie Soup & my husband & I were BLOWN AWAY!! And tonight the leftovers were even better! Can't wait to try more of her recipes. I highly recommend....
  3. Hello, I'm Rhonda. I'm new to sharing in any sort of forum, so I hope I have something worthwhile to share at some point. I'm not good at following thru with things, so I truly appreciate having this forum any any words of encouragement... I'm on day 6 already! I'm actually feeling like I am going to be able to do this! I'm getting ready to make my menu for the next 4 days & plot out my to-do's. So far, so good... Sending out happy vibes to y'all!

The Three Weaknesses I Worry About...

Hello @Eyechip The alcohol routine was an issue for me as well. I had planned to do the W30 about a year or so before I actually began. But I didn't follow thru that first time BECAUSE of my evening cocktails. It was simply something I eagerly anticipated at the end of each day & it helped me relax as well. I wasn't drinking in excess, just enjoying the routine. But this time, something was different in my resolve to feel better (multiple health issues were getting worse). I had my mind made up that I was going to do this 100%. I have not had a single cheat NOR a single desire to cheat. I'm feeling the improvements already at only day 16. I know, without a doubt, that I am going to finish this program. What has helped me with the alcohol "ritual" was pretty much what you are already doing. I have LaCroix in a wine glass, sometimes add a little chopped fruit. And I have also made the drinks in the back of the W30 book. My favorite is the Blood Orange Paloma (with the lime garnish!) I slowly sip it from a cocktail glass & focus on the flavor of the fruit juice. So I still get the satisfaction of the "evening cocktail" without breaking the rules. One final thing that I've been enjoying is making some fresh ginger tea to sip in the evening. It has bold flavor as well as digestion & other benefits. Since my start of the program, I have no nasal congestion & my sleep has improved tremendously! I hope this helps. Keep up the great work Eyechip! If I can do this, ANYONE can. Seriously.

I so appreciate the positive feedback & encouragement! Congrats @JCar for making it to day 21! You can pretty much see the finish line from where you are. Today is day 16 for me & I'm still in shock at my "stick-to-itiveness"! This is so out of character for me but I'm realizing that I'm stronger than I thought and that too often I cut myself short. This is a good boost to my self esteem. Anyway, I'm totally comitted to seeing this all the way thru to the end...

@JCar I was thinking the same thing. I'm not a TOTAL junk food junkie but I do have a serious addiction to sugar. I had wondered why I was still thinking about sugar and junk food on day 11. I wasn't necessarily craving, but noticing default behaviors automatically coming to mind. For example, I was making trail mix for my husband while I was hungry. I instinctively reached for the M&M's when it suddenly occurred to me that I cannot have M&M's. It's these types of automated behavior I want to break. At first I was bummed that I was still having these thoughts and tendencies. I started to worry that this meant I would probably revert to old behaviors/habits after my reintroductions. But then I remembered it takes about 17 days to form a new habit. That gave me added hope!!! I may actually conquer (or at least tame...) my sugar dragon after all!

Hi @JCar! I'm very encouraged by your post. I'm at the end of day 11 & feeling pretty sluggish & foggy today. I too have Hashimotos & had just removed gluten prior to beginning my W30. I'm hoping for/looking forward to being less sluggish & having more mental clarity. So thank you for your input & cheering us on!

Oh my goodness @MeredithM20 I had the same feeling a few times today. I went from feeling like "woo hoo day 9!!" to "its ONLY day 9..." in a matter of hours today! The book does say that days 10 & 11 are the hardest, we're just a little early. My friend gave me a recipe book for martinis tonight & it killed me to not rush home & try one out. But instead I had some blackberry Bubly in a wine glass. Pat yourself on the back for not stopping at McDs! I highlighted the mini "pep-talk" on pg 12 of the Whole30 book to help on days like today. Really, 9 days is a huge accomplishment! Maybe 2 more tough days ahead, but we'll be in double digit days, one day closer to the end... Hang in there!! We got this!

Starting day and Looking for Accountability partners

Have room for another accountability partner?? I need all the help I can get! I'll be 52 soon. I'm doing the program for the first time to help me heal my gut, learn what my problem foods are, break some unhealthy habits & curb my anxiety. So far, I'm doing pretty well & enjoying the ride! How are you doing so far @gloriaypradal?

Thank you @Terra Milliken for the encouragement! Today is day 9 for me & I truly can't believe it. Its so out of character for me! I'm going to be so bold as to say I am 100% certain that I am going to see this thru to the end of the 30 days, plus the reintro. I'm quite excited!! I will admit that the flavor profile for the meals I've made so far is already starting to get kinda old for me. I love avocados & garlic, but right now I feel like I'm on overload with both of them. I need to pick dishes with different elements. I would love for you to share 1 or 2 of your favorite easy meal recipes with me. Thank you!

I am actually enjoying the journey too! I really can't believe I'm saying that! Day 8 was a rough day for me energy-wise. Totally devoid of energy. But I think it may have to do with decreasing my omeprazole (in the process of weaning off for good) more than the program. I'm so excited to be on day 9! Thank you @MeredithM20 for posting pictures of the products you found. I will try some of them.

I'm so excited to see this thread of fellow Feb.10 starters!! Especially because I already relate to MeredithM20 & PettiS. I have depression & awful anxiety, as well as an autoimmune illness (Hashimoto's). I too have the tendency to start something but not follow thru. This time I feel different...better...more committed. I desperately want to feel better. So great job ladies, for making it to day 6!! For me thats huge! I just keep telling myself, "Its only for a month" & it makes it a lot less overwhelming for me. Who knows what will happen after the month? I'm hoping for a new way of thinking about food & not reverting to my old habits, but for now only committing to a month is helping. Hang in there ladies! This is totally doable!
