There's no time-limit to how long it takes to eat a meal... I think your hormones will adjust and you'll be able to eat your meals at your normal 'dinner speed' but an hour isn't unrealistic...
    Keep going!

@beachbaby and @BabyBear  Thanks so much for your comments.  I'm so glad you're doing this with me!
I'm going to highlight the "Pep-Talk" now!  And I'm going to think about my boredom.

Oh my goodness @MeredithM20 I had the same feeling a few times today. I went from feeling like "woo hoo day 9!!" to "its ONLY day 9..." in a matter of hours today! The book does say that days 10 & 11 are the hardest, we're just a little early. My friend gave me a recipe book for martinis tonight & it killed me to not rush home & try one out. But instead I had some blackberry Bubly in a wine glass. Pat yourself on the back for not stopping at McDs! I highlighted the mini "pep-talk" on pg 12 of the Whole30 book to help on days like today. Really, 9 days is a huge accomplishment! Maybe 2 more tough days ahead, but we'll be in double digit days, one day closer to the end... Hang in there!! We got this!

@MeredithM20  why are you bored?  Is it lack of variety in food? Lack of engaging interest beyond food?  Has your social engagements taken a hit during your whole 30. I encourage you to really sit in the boredom and ask yourself questions and unpack what is really being said... then see if there is something you can do to alleviate the boredom without sacrificing the 9 days you’ve already invested into your whole 30.
an example was for me I was day dreaming about the food I couldn’t have, so I decided instead of focusing on foods I couldn’t have I would research new whole 30 recipes and make a plan to work those into our menu.
This experiment with food is so about so much more than just food if we give ourselves the time and space to really explore ourself and our relationship with food.  I do hope you find the root of your boredom and you are able to come up with creative means to fill that hole for the remainder of your whole 30

@beachbaby here are two of my favorite recipes that I tried during my whole 30 and My kids still request them.  They are super easy and delicious
Sweet and sour chicken served with cauliflower rice and steamed broccoli
    https://www.maryswholelife.com/whole30-instant-pot-hawaiian-chicken/
Slow cooker pineapple pork -  I used the meat from
this for a bunch of different things.  Including salads, topping on baked potatoes, lettuce wrapped tacos, a quick heat and go breakfast.  It was super good and very versatile.  Made a lot of meat with very little effort.

Thank you @Terra Milliken for the encouragement! Today is day 9 for me & I truly can't believe it. Its so out of character for me! I'm going to be so bold as to say I am 100% certain that I am going to see this thru to the end of the 30 days, plus the reintro. I'm quite excited!!
I will admit that the flavor profile for the meals I've made so far is already starting to get kinda old for me. I love avocados & garlic, but right now I feel like I'm on overload with both of them. I need to pick dishes with different elements. I would love for you to share 1 or 2 of your favorite easy meal recipes with me. Thank you!

I am actually enjoying the journey too! I really can't believe I'm saying that! Day 8 was a rough day for me energy-wise. Totally devoid of energy. But I think it may have to do with decreasing my omeprazole (in the process of weaning off for good) more than the program. I'm so excited to be on day 9! Thank you @MeredithM20 for posting pictures of the products you found. I will try some of them.

Its been over a year since I first did Whole30, but I am ready to do it again, and make it more of a lifestyle.  Life got in the way and carried me off, so I'm a bit bloaty.  I start tomorrow, Monday the 10th of Feb.  I have my food planned out, and I'm ready to go.  I saw others asking for accountability partners, and I'm not sure how you do that here.  It takes me time to figure out how these forums work.  I happened to see something about W30 no longer liking the use of RX bars, but they have been my preworkout since I started Whole 30 in 2018.  Sugar isn't so much my problem as Cheese is.  LOVE my cheese. Anyhoo. I'm not sure if I said anything wrong here or not.  I am a live and learn kind of gal.  I can read and read and read, and still not quite get it until I experience something.

So this past weekend wasn't good.  I need to restart today.  Oh well. Back to Day 1!
I'm not totally upset that I have to restart.  I needed to have Valentine's weekend with my husband and family and not stressing over eating worked.  I may actually give myself one more day and restart tomorrow.
Question: besides eggs, what types of things can I eat for breakfast on the run?  I know Larabars and Rx bars aren't ideal, but honestly it's really hard for me to make eggs every morning.  Do you think it's okay to throw in those bars as options with a piece of fruit?  Sometimes my "rule following" issues get in the way of success I swear!

@LilliMarlene  NSV is Non-Scale Victory... in the Whole30 you're not supposed to get on the scale.  Which I think is completely freeing!  So keep track of NSV's.
THE KATT for me was day 3.
@beachbaby Making it through Day 6 was HUGE for me too!  Instead of saying 30 days now I can say 23 days!  And I don't need said it over and over again, like I did the first few days, because I am enjoying the journey.
I did purchase the Whole 30 book and Day by Day book (total $40 at Target) and I'm so glad I did.  I re-read the book alot and it has also taught me in a week to be confident in the kitchen.  The meals have been terrific!!!  It's the best 'Diet' book I've purchased, everything is easy to understand.  And no crazy ingredients.

I'm a busy working momma and have spent probably 2-3 hours each day in the kitchen...but it's time my butt would have spent watching Netflix.  I've found putting on some music and La Croix in a wine glass makes the Kitchen time 'My Time' and it's fun.
I have also bought some 'Whole30' approved sauces at Kroger/Target to save me some time.  They all taste a little different than you would expect, but they help.  They're also aren't cheap...but I remind myself how much I'm saving on McDonalds Drive Thru, Starbucks and my nightly bottle of wine (Yes I said it)
Here's a pic of my faves:

I'm so excited to see this thread of fellow Feb.10 starters!! Especially because I already relate to MeredithM20 & PettiS. I have depression & awful anxiety, as well as an autoimmune illness (Hashimoto's). I too have the tendency to start something but not follow thru. This time I feel different...better...more committed. I desperately want to feel better. So great job ladies, for making it to day 6!! For me thats huge! I just keep telling myself, "Its only for a month" & it makes it a lot less overwhelming for me. Who knows what will happen after the month? I'm hoping for a new way of thinking about food & not reverting to my old habits, but for now only committing to a month is helping. Hang in there ladies! This is totally doable!

I'm actually feeling like I am going to be able to do this! I'm getting ready to make my menu for the next 4 days & plot out my to-do's. So far, so good... Sending out happy vibes to y'all!
