    1st timer, starting Jan 7th!

    I'm still here, too! I've been feeling pretty darn good for the last week and I'm starting to think about re-introduction. What are everyone else's plans?

    1st timer, starting Jan 7th!

    Hi Everyone! I'm Francesca and my husband and I are starting today, too. We had a really productive weekend planning, shopping, and prepping. This is our third Whole30 and I'm very excited to get started. We use this as our annual "re-set" into more healthy eating after the holidays. I'm also extra motivated this time since I had my cholesterol tested in November and the numbers were higher than I was hoping for so I may extend mine to a Whole60 to or 90 before getting my cholesterol re-tested. Are any of you all going to post your meals to this thread? I'm always interested in other people's menus. :-) Here's mine for today: Breakfast: Frittata with guacamole Lunch: Michelle Tam's Instant Pot Beef Stew (https://nomnompaleo.com/post/155033019073/pressure-cooker-beef-stew) and steamed broccoli Dinner: Stuffed Peppers (recipe from the Whole30 book) and side salad.     January 2nd Starter's Reintro thread

    Thank you @SugarcubeOD! My re-introduction is going well. I started with dairy last Thursday and didn't notice any negative effects. I had two drinks at the Super Bowl party we attended and I noticed that I woke up multiple times during the night. I usually wake up at least once, but I definitely got worse sleep last night and that's something that I'd never really thought about as being an effect of alcohol consumption. Next steps for me are eating compliant for the rest of the work day and then trying wheat next Saturday.

    Starting January 2!

    Funny thing: I had decided I was going to weigh myself today but I stashed my scale away so carefully when I started on Jan 2 that I can't find it! It doesn't help that we're having a contractor doing work in our bathroom right now so there is a lot of stuff that is definitely not where it's supposed to be, but I thought it was pretty funny.

    Starting January 2!

    Happy Day 30 Everyone! I haven't been commenting a lot, but I have been reading this every day and it has been a great support for me. This is my second W30 and I'm feeling really good. I'm going to reintroduce dairy first (I miss milk in my black tea!), but after that I'm not sure. I haven't really been missing grains or legumes, but we are in a Supper Club with a couple of other families and those items often show up when it's not our turn to host so I will probably reintroduce those next. I think I'm going to continue eating mostly paleo, but include dairy from time to time. When I reintroduced it after my first W30 I didn't notice any ill effects so fingers crossed. :-)

    Starting January 2!

    Hi Everyone! I haven't posted in a few days, but things are going well. I definitely had some fatigue issues late last week and over the weekend, but I'm feeling really good now. I sure enjoy seeing the support and encouragement on this board and love hearing about recipes people are using. My husband has today off work so he's making XO Pork with Blistered Green Beans from Michelle Tam's new cookbook "Ready or Not" for dinner tonight. I can't wait! :-)

    @ErikaA I really love the stuffed peppers! The key for me is to make sure I chop the squash into small enough pieces. I also buy the pre-cut/peeled squash as a time saver and put in extra kale or other veggies that I may have. I usually make extra filling, too, since I like to eat it as a breakfast hash with an egg on top and hot sauce. Yum!

    Starting January 2!

    Aaargh! My husband, who did the last W30 with me, asked me yesterday morning why I wasn't putting milk in my tea. I was flabbergasted. What part of milk being dairy is confusing? He says he's sure he put milk in his tea during the last W30, too, and was I sure I wasn't mistaken? I honestly don't really care if he does or doesn't, as long as he's game to go along with what I plan for meals and supports me that way, but geez!

    Starting January 2!

    Well, I had a bit of a bumpy day 2. I didn't sleep well last night and started to feel some of the "hangover": queasy this morning and a persistent headache that started late afternoon and is only now starting to wane. I think I did pretty well with food. Breakfast was a frittata (egg, turkey, spinach) topped with compliant guacamole---I love the Good Foods single serve guacamole cups! Lunch was a stuffed pepper from the recipe in the Whole30 book and dinner was left over beef stew and steamed broccoli. I had a couple of cups of black tea in the morning then switched to sparkling water. Fingers crossed for a good night's sleep!

    Starting January 2!

    Happy Day 1 everyone! I'm feeling pretty good about this second W30 and apart from missing milk in my tea this morning, everything's going well so far. I feel very fortunate that husband enjoys taking this journey with me since that makes meal prepping and planning so much more simple. We're big fans of cooking a lot and eating from leftovers so my husband made a big breakfast frittata that will last us for the week. I like to eat mine with compliant guacamole. Yum! I also made some Instant Pot beef stew (Nom Nam Paleo recipe) yesterday evening and I'm having that and some broccoli for lunch today and there is enough for use to have several more meals each. I also cooked several chicken breasts so they are ready for dinner salads later this week. This evening I'm making a double batch of the stuffed pepper recipe in the W30 book. It's one of our favorites.

    That was the toughest part for me, too! One of the interesting lasting changes I took with from my first W30 was that I lost my taste for Diet Coke---it's just too darn sweet for me now!

    This will be my second W30 and I'm excited to hit the reset button and re-start some healthy habits. I'd also be interested in any W30 compliant InstantPot recipes anyone would care to share. :-) Francesca

    January 2nd start date

    It feels great to be on day 1 of re-introduction! As far as non-scale victories go, my clothes are fitting better and I having much more consistent energy levels throughout the day. I feel great! I feel that the meal planning and prep habits I have developed are really well seated and are an excellent basis for continuing in a healthy relationship with food---it's especially helpful that my husband is totally on board with the changes I've made. I re-introduced dairy today. I had milk with my black tea at breakfast and I just finished an absolutely delicious serving of organic "grassmilk" yogurt as part of my lunch. I also stepped on the scale this morning and discovered I had lost 12.5 pounds! That was definitely exciting, but I feel so much more solid about having laid the groundwork for a healthier realtionship with food that it's almost the icing on the cake, so to speak. :-)
