Daisy R got a reaction from Suzy in If You Ever Thought of Giving Up Trying to Lose Weight
I'm glad you posted this. I'm on day 11 of my first Whole30. My story is very similar. My max weight was 213lbs and I'm also 5'5. I did WW from January 2009 to about March or May 2010. My lowest was 164lbs, but then I moved out of my parents house. I had all the freedom in the world and lived near a bunch of fast food places. It was definitely a bad combo. Anyway, I totally agree with you about WW. It does not promote a healthy relationship with food at all. This is why I quit, because I was so obsessed with balancing out what I overate with exercising because I didn't want to go over my points. It was crazy. I'm glad though that after WW, I went on to learn more about food and have now found the Whole30. I'm hoping this works for me and helps met get this weight off finally. I miss my lowest weight and want to go even lower. We'll see. Thanks for sharing your story Suzy.

A PDF on reintro would be great too
I think I'll actually have the most trouble explaining this to others who've all been wanting me to come out for dinner

thanks Doni. The sausage I'm talking about is behind the deli counter. I've found lots of compliant sausage. the andouille is pretty good. I've gotten a couple other pork and chicken ones also that are compliant. I can't think of them off hand. And behind the deli counter, their turkey hot sausage ones are compliant and I just bought a bunch of other sausages recently like the breakfast sage ones they have, the chorizo and another one. Now I just make sure to read the label they have in front of the meat and the sticker they put on the wrapper as well.

Also, to echo something I said on another thread: I'm on my 2nd Whole30. The first one, I couldn't let go of tracking, and I tracked in a super detailed way. The Whole30 worked (I got the sleep benefits, my guts cleared up, I felt great physically for the most part, and I even lost some weight), but I was still worrying about food in a way that took up a lot of my time and I'm sure contributed to anxiety. This time, I'm just keeping a very simple log here on the forum -- just a list of what I eat at each meal. I'm about 8 days from the end, and I feel even better than I did last Whole30, and for the first time in YEARS, I have almost no anxiety about what I'm eating. I don't think about what to eat next. I don't worry that I ate too much or too little or the wrong thing. I'm not perfect every day (ie, sometimes I get slightly off template), but I feel confident that my days average out to eating really, really well.
Basically, I just want to reiterate: Trust the program. It's worth it.

The ingredients in the large cuts (for slicing) often vary from the pre-packaged meats because the packaged stuff needs extra help to preserve color, freshness and texture inside the package.

Day 9!!! Spent the whole day prepping food. I'm exhausted!!
    Here's what I ate:
Meal1: 4 pieces of breakfast loaf with an avocado mashed w/salt
    Workouted
PWO: 1 egg and some acorn squash with cinnamon on top
Meal 2: pork bratwurst with some pumpkin alfredo casserole
Meal 3: Beef and sweet potato stew and half an avocado
I was struggling this morning with not being able to weigh myself. I feel like I need to weigh myself to feel like it is worth it or something. While at the gym, I had to cheer myself on and tell myself that I don't need the scale to validate how great a job I'm doing or to negate how great I feel. This part of the Whole30 is going to be something I'm going to struggle with. I like seeing quick results and because I can't weigh myself, I don't feel like I'm getting results. But i'm only looking at it as if the number on the scale is the only thing that matters. I'm trying to focus on the other aspects, such as how awesome I feel eating this way or how much I enjoy making different recipes. And how easy it is to eat this way. We'll see. I hope it doesn't pop up often, because I really don't want to stress about it.

Didn't get to post last night. It was such a long day! My last semester in grad school has started, but I'm taking three classes back to back While getting dressed for school, I definitely felt smaller in my pants. I think my love handles are shrinking!
    Day 10(yesterday)
Fasted Cardio on the bike for 40 minutes
Meal 1: Sausage, apple and sweet potato hash
Meal 2: Ground turkey cooked with grated apples and zucchini and some mashed sweet potatoes with pecans
Pre-workout/Meal 3: 2 eggs mashed with half an avocado and a piece of alfredo pumpkin casserole
    Cardio kickboxing
PWO: some coconut crusted chicken tenders and mango slaw. Also had a spoonful of coconut manna. It has an interesting taste. All I could think about was how great it would taste on toast! lol
I'll update later today on all my meals.
Also feel free to follow me on Instagram. I post pictures of all my meals and my calories burns. My username is boridizzy

For full transparency I have to point out that I didn't lose the above weight difference doing paleo. I lost it with ww, how I wish I had known about paleo back then! I could have felt like this while losing weight! What paleo and w30 has done for me is help change my body comp and make it easy & enjoyable to maintain my weight. And I'm sure I'm healthier too!

Today Sunday 6th is Day zero
A little about me, I'm a (recently) 39 year old sahm to Alex (9) and Lily (6) in Dublin, Ireland.
In recent years (started in June 09) I have taken control of my weight & health and have changed quite a bit!

In January '12 I decided to take things a step further and started this gentle introduction to the primal diet.
In April I was ready to give my first Whole30 a whirl. Since then I have done 3 more whole30's and one Whole21.
My goals for this round are :
Fruit will not be a snack or desert. That sneaky desert post could have been written for me. Same with nuts - no sneaky handfuls standing at thr fridge
I will drink water and limit coffee to 2 a day.
I will take my supps every day - Hair & nail vits, biotin, fish oil, magnesium, D3.
    I will limit/reduce the amount of pork/bacon I eat
I will get the house under control using this guide
I will weight-train 3 times a week and yoga at least once a week

So today on my to-do list:
are make mayo, salad dressing, egg loaf
and do up a works schedule (see above!) and meal plan for the first half of the week.
I'm looking forward to eating clean & feeling great!

Hey everyone! I'm also starting this sunday. I'm so excited. I'm also enjoying my last days of eating grains, no over doing it though lol. I had a veggie panin and will be having a grass fed burger tomorrow with the bread. Then to start the Whole30 Sunday. I'm glad there are other people starting the same day. We can all support each other in this journey.
