Where is the guidance on reintroducing Alcohol?

I miss alcohol a little. I had to cut it out for two babies and I thought my resistance would be much lower now hee hee. So I'll hold off til day 13. I'm thankful for the reintro guidance. Everything off plan makes me nervous now. I look at junk food and think "get away you'll make me feel terrible!" I'm on the non gluten grains day. I'm expecting to react.

    Discomfort regarding the advice

Yes, my point was that it is a drastic change for the body. It would be good to have some sort of medical professional as a part of the team to help guide the moderators and advanced members as a way to keep everyone safe. People still look to the forum for knowledgeable advice and they can be seriously led astray. Also, I'm pretty sure that I saw credentials for Dallas Hartwig as a functional medicine doctor. That being said, I do like that there is a forum and good support for others when it's functioning well. JwatK. I'm so sorry for the experience you had with Whole30.

I'm so sorry you had this horrible experience Julia. I bear witness that you were treated with much unkindness. I'm glad you saw a doctor. That was exactly what I was worried might happen to someone; even before I read your post. I wish you could stay and keep trying, but no one would tell you to go against medical advice. All the best!!

True, but don't die before you get there.

I fully agree with meadowlilly. Take into account that anyone can respond to your post whether or not they have the right knowledge base.

    Discomfort regarding the advice

I'm kind of lodging an official complaint. There are people who seem to have issues with hypoglycemia/hypovolemia when adjusting to this eating plan. The advice they are getting feels very dangerous to me. I had similar issues and got similar advice (which I did not take). I think the advisors need to be more careful about telling people who are having symptoms of severe hypoglycemia to cut out the approved sugars and carbs. Hypovolemia seems to be an issue as well. It stands to reason that there would be an isotonic imbalance in the body given that you've removed sugar molecules from the bloodstream. Yet there is little to no advice that I've seen that would rectify that imbalance when people complain of the symptoms. What concerns me is that this program was started by a doctor, yet there appears to be a lack in responsible medical advice to get people through the transition smoothly. Besides that, I do truly love the program. I have transitioned into burning fat instead of sugar and I am reaping many of the benefits. I believe in the program, I just hate to see it fall short. I apologize if this is not where I am supposed to post this. I did not see another venue for this.

Oh PLEASE put sugar back in your body! I'm sorry but that is scary! After pulling people out of hypoglycemic shock at work there is nothing scarier to me. You definitely had the symptoms. I read ISWF and they talk about your body switching over from using sugar for energy to using fat for energy...but what about in the mean time when your body isn't sure where to get the energy and there is no sugar?? I would HIGHLY recommend you eat the approved sugars and Carby veggies until your body adjusts. Safety is more important than adjusting quickly or curbing your sugar dragons. I actually had some light headed ness when I started also. I attributed it to low blood pressure and low blood sugar. My symptoms weren't as bad as yours. I did almost exactly what you did to fix it. It made the lightheadedness go away. I still eat starchy veggies with every breakfast to be safe and I have no more lightheadedness anymore. Also it could be low blood pressure. I think mine had a lot to do with electrolyte imbalance. If you're taking all that sugar out of your blood, it needs to be replaced with something to keep fluid in your veins! I drank coconut water. Be safe! Watch for symptoms!
  8. Laura Louis, thank you so much for posting This! There were parts that had me laughing out loud (even during kids' nap time) because I can absolutely relate. Yep, that's me. I just love the effect this has had on you and your mood. Me too. I didn't really expect that. I want to sing the praises of this program Too! I'm grateful to feel like a success story. I never thought I could be one of those skinny girls that could say " I want a sweet treat, how about an apple." I used to think that there must be something seriously wrong with those girls, but now I get It! Now it seems possible. I've got a week left, then I'll write a story. Thanks for posting!
  9. Yep, I'm in the same boat with you yogaJen! I want to eat like this after the whole30, but I'm going to have to figure out how to do it cheaper. I've got $180 for 2 weeks of groceries for the whole family. I've been digging into other accounts to make it work. It's just me on Whole30 so that helps. I still try to feed my family mostly Whole30 foods. I recognize ISWF says that people eat grains to survive and now we can thrive. I think our family's budget is somewhere between surviving and thriving. But I'm pretty creative and innovative, I think I can figure it out!

    HELP!!!!

Thank you SO much. I'm through the really hard days now and loving the program! I am proud of myself for making it through this far. I think I will do a whole45 because I'm learning as I go ways to do this better. I'm really enjoying the foods with my new tastebuds! I'm seeing all the results I was hoping to see. I really did need encouragement on day 10. I was comparing the plan to natural childbirth and it really did feel as uncomfortable, just in a different way. Thanks for the encouragement.

Thank you kirkor. I really needed some encouragement.

    HELP!!!!

Yeah, those are two very different things. I'm absolutely not eating left over French fries. Accidentally licking one spoon after 8 days of strictly following the program is not the same as shoving junk food in my mouth. I'm on day 10 and HATING this eating program. Most of me is saying " just have a diet coke already!" I'm just trying to push through. I've worked very hard to get to this point. If it comes down to needing to restart than that's it for me. I'll go drink my diet coke now.

    HELP!!!!

Oh it feels good to hear that. I was stirring chocolate (almond) milk for my kids yesterday and my thought was 'it's almond milk, it's whole30' and I licked the spoon. As soon as the spoon was in my mouth I remembered why it wasn't whole30... it was Sweet! I don't want to start over for less than 1 ml of chocolate milk.
