I got asked out to dinner for a first date the other day. I've suggested coffee instead, because it's a lot less off-putting for a girl to order black coffee than to question every item on the menu (not that I would hesitate normally, but on a first date? The lasting impression he'll have of me is that I'm a weirdo about food!)

26 days into my whole30 and I braved a restaraunt for the first time last night. I wasn't afraid of the food temptation, I was afraid of being that annoying customer who asks for a full inspection of each dish. So I got brave last night and met a friend at the local tapas bar. And wouldn't you know it the waiter was kind of dreamy. When I asked him about the ingredients and he looked curious I replied, " oh I'm doing the whole30" and he just nodded and had no idea what the heck I was talking about. The only compliant menu items were garlic brussel sprouts and olives. But they were delicious.

    Hello!
So, I have so many similarities to draw with you: this is also my second W30 (I started on the 11th), I'm trying to cut down on how often I reach for the bag of nuts (they seemed to be my crutch food the first time around) and - finally - I have shoulder bursitis! I used to love lifting and swimming, then got bursitis in my left shoulder, did physio and 2 rounds of steroid shots, felt better (but didn't start back in on the lifting and swimming) ... and over the last month my right shoulder is giving me signs of bursitis, so I'll be back at the physio soon. I need to get back to the gym to do my physio moves (now for my right shoulder too) and just hit the cardio until I'm better.
I wish you great success in your W30 and look forward to watching your progress!

Ok so my goals for this whole 30 are slightly different to my first.
    1. No nut snacks
    2. No sneaky swypo treats
    3. No coffee after lunch
    4. Do a proper reintroduction
I know I doing this over Easter but it is not a big festival for my family and myself so it will be do-able.
    Day1
Meal 1 leftover BBQ chook, sweet potato, coleslaw and a fried egg in coconut oil, coconut water (the unsweetened type and we are at the end of a massive hot spell here)
Meal 2 steak, salad, tuna, beetroot more coleslaw, more coconut water
Meal3 2 boiled eggs, 1/2 a handful of shredded chicken, cucumber sticks
Meal 4 steak, coleslaw, salad, sweet potato with coconut oil
Feeling, full and satisfied. Looking forward to the energy levels improving over the next week or so as the rubbish leaves my system.
Exercise is at a minimum at the moment as I have bursitis in my shoulder. On legs only and missing the weights room (another reason I need the whole30 now as my body fat is increasing)

Well the wheels fell off the cart and then plummeted off the side of a cliff following a weekend away. I am going to suck it up and start a 2nd whole30 next Wrdnesday.

I think so, although I have tried it and not a fan (it curdles/splits) would rather drink it black, or just have tea when at home.

Day 30, not the end of the day but I have some time so logging now.
Feeling quite emotional about it all today, I think because I am still feeling really bloated, I suspect the culprit is the salt in the parma ham/prosciutto or whatever it was from Aldi that I ate that is just pork and salt.
    So
B sweet potato spinach and eggs, coconut oil
L leftover chicken stew and spinach
D? Possibly steak and veggies of some sort
So on reflection (and trying to be positive)
    The whole30 has shown me
    1. It's ok to eat when hungry as long as its nutritious food
    2. That I can be in control of my food, rather than the other way Round
    3. That good sleep is great
4.thwt I can maintain my weight without obsessively tracking calories
I will admit I would have liked to have dropped some scale weight, that hasn't happened, however I suspect I have dropped some fat and added some muscle as I am starting to see a bit more definition in some areas.
I think I will put the scales away again because I don't like them
Would I do this agains? Yes, but I would take more care in tracking my portion sizes as I do tend towards gluttony. Lol
Oh and coconut milk would be off the menu.

It's getting scarily yet excitingly close to the end isn't it. I hope the eating out experience go well, I am yet to brave that one. I have become quite anti-social and or controlling about where and how I eat. Would rather catch up with people for coffee or have them come here.

Thanks Krista. I posted and then searched and it seems to be quite common. I guess I was expecting to just keep feeling "good" rather than feeling great for a couple of weeks and then feeling really flat.
Time to myself is pretty much an unknown commodity at the moment, I get about an hour to myself 3-4 times a week to go to the gym and that is it.
I am trying to free up some time for myself today so I have my fingers crossed I might be able to relax a bit then.
I guess I just need to suck it up and get through the next week.

Hey, maybe we could meet at a farmers market.... or in Springvale for coffee!
