So, I've decided to give coffee the boot, eek! I've been wondering about it and while it is whole30 compliant (I always drink coffee black with no sugar anyway) I want to know what effect it has on me, so I'm stopping as of today. I only have one or at most 2 cups a day, so will be interesting to see if it changes anything. I'm feeling so good, I want to see if it makes me feel even better

Day 16! So happy to be over the halfway mark, although I must say that I feel like I've really settled into this now. In my normal every day life, I'm finding it quite easy to stick to this now and...on the weekend I had a taste of Tiger Blood, woohoo! The tricky bit is definitely doing things with others. This past weekend we had a wedding of a good friend and so went away for the weekend. I was very good and thought through what I would eat before we left and took lots of food and my own mayo, roasted sweet potato and other bits with me to make sure I wouldn't be tempted. But goodness the smell of the warm bread that the others we were staying with were eating and the chips while waiting for the barbeque were so enticing. I was very proud of myself for staying strong and then especially at the wedding, saying no to wonderful desserts and pastries. Luckily there was still quite a bit that I could eat! I've actually found now that it's easier to say no to things than I thought it would be. And on the wedding dance floor...TIGER BLOOD! I danced crazily for hours and I think converted a few people into trying the Whole30 in the process! Well done everyone! Keep up the good work!

Day 5 halfway done and I'm feeling good! Only experienced the foggy head and slight headache yesterday and today a bit, but on the whole feeling good! I had my first real challenge last night, going to dinner at my parents' house. I said I'd bring chocolate mousse, so I held the bowl as far away from me as possible while I was mixing it up and made my husband eat the left over chocolate as soon as he got home to avoid temptation. I had to be so careful to think about it and not absently lick my finger or spoon while I was mixing, was pretty funny. Anyway, I succeeded and had no problem saying no to dessert and wine and explaining to my mom about compliant food, so it was a success, I was pretty happy with myself! So far, I'm loving my egg breakfasts and am totally mad about egg and raspberry combination, sooo good! Well done so far everyone, gooo team!

Hmm...I did check my bottle and it was fine, but will double check again. Just looked at the whole30 website - Mustard: Read your labels Mustard is a fine choice, just read your labels carefully. French’s Yellow is compliant, but beware your Dijon—it often contains white wine, which rules it out during your Whole30. Mine has vinegar, not wine, so seems fine, but good point to double check that, thanks!

I've made the type of mayo in the recipes for a long time and initially always used to make it just in a bowl with a whisk (I actually find this method to be better in some conditions, ie when it's really hot outside or when it keeps curdling). The way I make it is with 1 tsp dijon mustard (not powder, actual mustard) ,1 egg, salt and pepper. Whisk it around and then start adding oil. Mix and add oil until it starts getting stiffish and then add lemon, you can then add more oil (to get required thickness) and lemon (to get taste) until you're happy with consistency and taste. I don't find it difficult to mix like this, all done in a couple of minutes. I now make it in a small blender too.

So, I know this is probably very early, but I dreamt about chocolate cake last night and in my dream I was so worried that I had eaten some without realising! So funny, I have definitely done many days without sugar before, but I guess because I'm thinking about it a lot, it's gone to my head! Die sugar dragon, die! Otherwise day 1 went well, we had burgers (I made patties with mince, onion, garlic, green pepper and carrot) on a bed of salad and roasted sweet potatoes. We're eating the same thing again tonight because I don't like to prep every night Go team!

I'm starting today too, eek! Looking forward to it, excited and a bit nervous about the events I have happening this month and travelling, but I will tackle those when I get there! Fun to have so many people from all over the world starting today! Looking forward to doing this together! What are you guys hoping to get out of this? I guess knowing the 'why' will help us to keep ourselves on track! For me, my husband and I have been struggling to have a baby for the last few years and while we're approaching that from other angles too, I've been thinking why not try something natural too and help my body to get itself sorted out again. Just had my spinach fritata for breakfast and it was yummy, although huge, my husband and I couldn't finish it! Good luck everyone!
