Day 16! So happy to be over the halfway mark, although I must say that I feel like I've really settled into this now. In my normal every day life, I'm finding it quite easy to stick to this now and...on the weekend I had a taste of Tiger Blood, woohoo!
The tricky bit is definitely doing things with others. This past weekend we had a wedding of a good friend and so went away for the weekend. I was very good and thought through what I would eat before we left and took lots of food and my own mayo, roasted sweet potato and other bits with me to make sure I wouldn't be tempted. But goodness the smell of the warm bread that the others we were staying with were eating and the chips while waiting for the barbeque were so enticing. I was very proud of myself for staying strong and then especially at the wedding, saying no to wonderful desserts and pastries. Luckily there was still quite a bit that I could eat! I've actually found now that it's easier to say no to things than I thought it would be.
And on the wedding dance floor...TIGER BLOOD! I danced crazily for hours and I think converted a few people into trying the Whole30 in the process!
Well done everyone! Keep up the good work!

Day 5 halfway done and I'm feeling good! Only experienced the foggy head and slight headache yesterday and today a bit, but on the whole feeling good!
I had my first real challenge last night, going to dinner at my parents' house. I said I'd bring chocolate mousse, so I held the bowl as far away from me as possible while I was mixing it up and made my husband eat the left over chocolate as soon as he got home to avoid temptation. I had to be so careful to think about it and not absently lick my finger or spoon while I was mixing, was pretty funny. Anyway, I succeeded and had no problem saying no to dessert and wine and explaining to my mom about compliant food, so it was a success, I was pretty happy with myself!
So far, I'm loving my egg breakfasts and am totally mad about egg and raspberry combination, sooo good!
Well done so far everyone, gooo team!

OMG I FORGOT! I had a crazy dream last night that I started eating a majorly non-compliant sandwich. White bread! Processed meats! Cheese! In the dream I ate about half before I realized my error. The funny thing is, it was a crappy sandwich. Dry, boring, nothing special.
Anyone else have any cheat dreams to share?

I'm starting today too, eek! Looking forward to it, excited and a bit nervous about the events I have happening this month and travelling, but I will tackle those when I get there! Fun to have so many people from all over the world starting today! Looking forward to doing this together!
What are you guys hoping to get out of this? I guess knowing the 'why' will help us to keep ourselves on track! For me, my husband and I have been struggling to have a baby for the last few years and while we're approaching that from other angles too, I've been thinking why not try something natural too and help my body to get itself sorted out again.
Just had my spinach fritata for breakfast and it was yummy, although huge, my husband and I couldn't finish it!
    Good luck everyone!

Ok, two days in the bag (I started Sunday). I wasn't starving yesterday and I didn't have any cravings. But I think I am having withdrawals! Last night right before bed (about 3.5 hours after dinner, my regular bedtime) I started getting a bit of a headache. By the time I got into bed I had a full blown head-pounder, was extremely nauseous (seriously thought I would be ill, but wasn't thank god) and got chills/sweats/hot flashes. I had severe night sweats (not super common for me, but they do happen on occasion) and was alternately freezing and overheated. I put an ice bag on my head and had a heating pad handy, and slept pretty good considering. I feel fine this morning but good lord it was rough! This was warned in the book under the timeline section, but I didn't think it would hit me so hard.
I am "coming down" from a lot of whole wheat toast and grilled cheese sammies, tortillas, dairy (cheese, Greek yogurt and half&half in my coffee) and a pretty serious sugar addiction. I liken it to getting off drugs - the withdrawals are so bad, "using" again just isn't worth it!
My biggest miss is still my vanilla protein powder smoothie and half& half in my coffee. I love the food for the most part and it makes me feel good but the adjustment is harder than I thought it would be for sure!
    Hang in there everybody!

Things I learned on Day 1:
-The Sugar Dragon is real, and it's angry when it's not fed.
-Hangry is a real emotion. (I learned this because I couldn't stomach my frittata yesterday because I put way too much onion in it...so I didn't eat a full meal until lunch.)
-I depended on sugar way more than I realized in order to have energy.
-Spaghetti squash is amazing, and I didn't miss the pasta with my dinner last night AT ALL!!!

    Happy Day 2!

So, I know this is probably very early, but I dreamt about chocolate cake last night  and in my dream I was so worried that I had eaten some without realising! So funny, I have definitely done many days without sugar before, but I guess because I'm thinking about it a lot, it's gone to my head! Die sugar dragon, die!
Otherwise day 1 went well, we had burgers (I made patties with mince, onion, garlic, green pepper and carrot) on a bed of salad and roasted sweet potatoes. We're eating the same thing again tonight because I don't like to prep every night
    Go team!

I can totally second your worries. I wasn't recently diagnosed with Hashimotos and realized that for years I had been sluggish and tired and could not get my weight under control. But I have to say, walking is currently my favorite exercise. It relaxes me, gives me some time to myself, and helps me get my steps in!!  A 45 minute morning walk really helps to put the day in perspective. Glad you found us also and am looking forward to encouraging and supporting one another.
