I'm glad I'm not alone in my struggle. The funny thing is I never thought I ate much sugar.  But looking at it now sugar was in pretty much everything I ate.  WOW! What reading labels has done for me.  I just thought I love bread, but I think it really is the sugar I crave.

Day 7!  This is a tough one for me.  I'm at the how can anyone possible do this for 30 days stage!  I wanted oatmeal or cereal so bad this morning.  But I didn't cave.  I ate a bowl of fresh spinach with my deviled egg and some black olives.  It took awhile to get down.  Not that it tasted bad, my body was hungry but I just had a hard time eating.  I'm hoping for the I feel amazing stage soon.  Hopefully this will help motivate me some more.

    I feel your struggles!
I'm on Day 7, too.  I had to talk myself out of sugar all day yesterday.  I'm proud that I didn't cave but it impacted the amount of work I completed.  I thought no snacking would make me more productive and it did for the first few days.  Now?  All I think about is sugar. So . . . I'm also at the stage of how do people do this for 30 days?

I think you are both right on track with the Whole30 timeline. According to the timeline, your body is struggling to adjust to the absence of the easy sources of energy it's used to accessing - namely, sugars. Hang in there & give your body a chance to learn (remember?) how to efficiently burn fat. Maybe allow yourself an extra cup of coffee or tea?

Eccentrica Thank you for your kind words.  It's great to hear you have gotten some relief.  I also suffer from environmental allergies and possibly an auto immune disease.  It is something they want to biopsy with the surgery.  I'm hoping the Whole30 helps at least relieves some of my symptoms.  Anything that makes it easier to breath is worth a shot right?    How long have you been on the Whole30 and what is the biggest thing you have noticed?  I'm having a hard time getting all my proteins in.  I'm not a big meat eater and Day 3 I'm already getting tired of eggs.  I think I need to be more creative.

@CarrieTampa I'm so sorry to hear about your updated diagnosis. That must have really shook you. I was diagnosed with adult-onset asthma about five years ago (aggravated by environmental factors, diet and autoimmune disease), so I know how scary breathing problems can be -- but my situation isn't like yours. I wish you the absolute best with whatever happens from here (surgery, etc).
I'm on Day 25 of my W30, and I just wanted to tell you how impressed I am with your decision to go ahead despite this. Good for you!
And I hope you do get some relief with your breathing. I know your problem is different than just asthma, but I can tell you that I haven't had to use my nebulizer at all during my W30 so far, and I only used my rescue inhaler a few times in the first week. That's a big improvement for me.
    Good luck!

I started this Whole30 due to health issues I've been having.  Been diagnosed with asthma for almost 5 years now and nothing is helping my breathing.  Some days I find it hard to walk to my car.  I started Whole30 yesterday and today I get news from my Dr. that the only way to treat my condition (as it's a narrowing of my trachea instead of asthma) is surgery.  So I'm very disappointed today.  However I'm still going to stick to this Whole30 and see if I have any changes.  As much as I wanted to just give up after the news today I think the Whole30 can still offer me some relief.  Tonight I'm going to cook up some new meals as for the past day and half I've only eaten eggs, spinach, carrots, tuna and blueberries.  Tonight I'm cooking up some meats to add to my veggies and fruit.

Hello! I also started on March 1. I'm really excited and optimistic about the outcome. I know it will be hard but it's something I HAVE to do for my body. I was diagnosed with PCOS several years ago and have not found anything that helps me fight it, but I really think the Whole30 could be it. I'm currently having a terrible headache but I know it won't last forever. I want my body back!!!

I'm also starting March 1st for lent!  I'm very excited.  I'm hoping to go shopping for some staples and I have a few meals already planned.  I'd like to cook those up and freeze them so I have a few go to items.  This month is packed with company coming in but there is never much down time for us and our busy life.  I'm hoping I learn some new and healthy alternatives even when in a rush.  My husband is not doing the Whole30 with me but he isn't opposed to some of the meals I have lined up.  So hopefully his cooperative spirit will be some extra motivation for me.
