    Good job John! you may not think it's a big deal but I'm very impressed! I think one of the harder things is to remember and be aware of what we're eating. and so I'm personally scared that I'm gonna forget and have to start over. but the fact that you forgot and then remembered shows that your mindset is changing which I think is so cool that it's happening so fast! my struggles are when my colleagues go out to eat without me or when they bring take out back to the office and I'm sitting there with my sad healthy chicken and they're having Thai and I wish I could have noodles right now... but today is going to be better cause last night I made a full meal for me and my friend and I have leftovers today and it's not sad looking! I made squash with ground meat and tomato sauce and, oh my, it was so filling! I ate a way smaller portion than I normally would if I had the same meal but with pasta, and I was super full and I didn't need to go back for seconds! also zuppa toscana sounds so good! also yesterday my Mom said that when I told her I was doing this she "knew it wouldn't work but oh well at least you're trying" which is also kind of a bummer I believe in all of us though! we can do it! I won't let anyone rain on my parade!

    well that was in the morning, before I had breakfast. see, normally I don't really eat breakfast so I'm not used to making it a priority until these past few days. and normally, I'm not really that hungry in the morning. pre-whole30, I would start snacking or I'd just have an early lunch. But I think it's a good sign that I was really hungry yesterday cause I think the book said if I'm not hungry in the morning after sleeping for 8 hours then my hormones are off. so today when I got into work I had eggs that I had just made at home and half an avocado. And then I was a little hungry about an hour later so I had the rest of the avocado. so maybe eggs aren't enough? I had four (the number I can fit in my hand) but nothing else so maybe it was cause of lack of veggies? I'm still getting used to this whole meal planning thing and having full breakfasts.

    @sofiaI definitely had Chick-fil-A before I started... So I'm impressed with your willpower lol! This morning I was talking to my colleague and I was so hungry I think they could hear my stomach on the floor below lol! So I think that means that my hormones are getting back on track cause I never used to be that hungry before. Maybe? Also this week I've sort of been winging it with meal prep and cooking so I haven't felt like I was making amazing food. But tonight I had a friend over and we made the squash and tomato sauce and ground meat and it was so good and so filling! I'm actually excited for the leftovers tomorrow! Also regarding Easter celebrations, I would just go for whatever sounds the plainest on the menu and add salt and pepper. And like you said, eggs are always good. I remember the book said something about bringing a small container of salad dressing?

    Doesn't tryptophan make you sleepy? I'm pretty sedentary during the day cause I have a boring desk job. Although I do have a standing desk and I use it quite often. And after work I go to the gym maybe 3 times a week? I haven't had my blood tested for a while so I'm not sure about whether I'm prediabetic. I just know that I wasn't healthy before because I love fries and chocolate. My Mom has diabetes, and she had it when she was pregnant with me. And my Aunt had gestational diabetes too, but she's currently not diabetic. And my Grandpa had diabetes during the last several years of his life. And I've been drinking water regularly but haven't kept track of the amount.

    @PARyan @Purejoy I've been feeling down too. Not sure if it's because I don't have enough fat intake or cause I saw my ex yesterday and he makes me emotional (probably both, lol!) A friend of mine who introduced me to this said that everyone is different and sometimes we'll feel a change later than the timeline said. I think we should just focus on following the rules. Part of the reason I'm doing this is cause there's a history of diabetes in my family. @jmbcn do you know which starchy vegetables would be good to eat in this case? I LOOOOOOVE potatoes but I've been told I eat too much of them lol so I haven't had any since I started, but maybe that's why I'm hungry?

    @knight_jontrann I woke up kind of late today. I had half a fritatta (before I didn't think I needed to eat half since I don't really eat breakfast, but I now know I was supposed to eat half cause that's three eggs), three strawberries and some almonds. I think I'm having more remorse about not being able to go out and eat with my colleagues than about not being able to eat sugar/other bad things. I'm still getting the hang of this so I'm holding off on navigating eating out - maybe I'll get to it next week. Also I think food was in my dream again haha How's it going on your end? Congrats on not landing face first on a box of chicken! Did you wake up feeling different?

    This morning I woke up earlier than I expected and tried to fall back to sleep but I couldn't. And now I'm slightly tired. How's your day 3 going besides the tiredness? I also had a dream that I ate something non-compliant... it wasn't quite a nightmare but there was definitely some panicking inside the dream lol

    I had an avocado with it. But I had it over the course of the day. I've also had some almonds and like two strawberries. And just now I had lunch (leftover chicken, broccoli, asparagus). Maybe the chicken just isn't filling? I had leftovers so I kept eating it but tonight I'm gonna go for a different kind of meat to see if I feel different tomorrow. Also yawning a lot.

    I'm feeling okay today! It's day 3 and I'm not sure why I don't feel cranky. I hope I'm not doing it wrong I had a frittata with avocado this morning. And my frittata was cooked with coconut oil. But I'm still really hungry... now to eat lunch. I didn't really sleep well so I was kind of tired this morning. have you experienced the Fog yet?

    Thanks for the suggestions Jonathan! I made some chicken yesterday because like you said, I wanted to start with something I knew. I had chicken and vegetables for lunch today. I'm not sure yet if I feel different. Maybe because I don't feel like my diet has changed that much yet (I already eat a lot of eggs and chicken and vegetables) besides the fact that I don't have any sugar (walking past the candy jar every day is hard...) I think I'll feel it more tomorrow cause of not having processed sugar. I've also eaten so much fruit in the last two days. The book says that we shouldn't try to substitute unhealthy things with healthy things (like not making pancakes with bananas and almond milk or something). So does that include replacing chocolate with fruit? Because fruit is natural sugar and not added sugar. But I dunno if that's comparable to the pancake analogy. I love fries and I'm assuming I can't eat them even if they're made with olive oil and no sugar? Also, has anyone found coffee that tastes good without alterations?

    That's great! I'm reading through the book and I have to admit I'm so overwhelmed. I'm having second thoughts and I really wanna start tomorrow but grocery shopping is already making me anxious! Have you ever felt this way? And what do you do?
